  1. We passed just after and saw they had hit a bollard in the centre of the road. There appeared to be a child being helped out of the back seat. It looked pretty bad. Hope they were all ok

  5. Anyone know if M&S are doing the set menu again this year? I can't see anything on their website? We had one last year and got the Turkey, vegetables and a load of other sides for about £50 but I can't see it this year. If anyone has a link to the web page that would be muchly appreciated
  6. I live in an old victorian house with stone exterior window sills. The paint is white and flaking, I'd like to spruce it up and have seen a lovely grey colour I think would look nice. Has anyone attempted to paint the front of their house themselves? Is it harder than it sounds? I'm pretty confident with my decorating skills inside but wondered if outside is a much bigger task? Any top tips to help with the prep before I start? Would I sand down the old paint or buy some kind of outdoor filler? Thanks in advance
  7. exactly how dark were these dark people you describe?
  8. Thanks, yeah CAB have linked the Law Society but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions for solicitors whom specialise in the area of negligence / consumer law.
  9. I'm after legal advice regarding an injury my son suffered as a result of foreign objects inside his pillow. He suffered a cut to his face and, after contacting trading Standards, the pillow was found to contain all sorts of scary things (metal nut and bolt, jagged pastic, saw dust, 2" plastic tube and stones!) - the manufacturer says they have changed their procedures in their overseas factory and that this was an iscolated incident due to faulty feather blowing machinery and have now changed the machinery as a result of my findings but I'm looking to submit a claim for negligence and need legal advice. CAB have suggested making a claim for negligence or under te Consumer Protection Act but I don't have a clue where to start! Any recommendations of solicitors with free consultations please anyone?

  17. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the guys at Met Gas, Mike, Dean and another bloke who's name i don't remember! I cannot recommend these guys enough to anyone looking to replace a boiler or radiators after having work carried out in my home, mainly by Dean. I'm revamping my kitchen so my big old hulk of a 10+ year old boiler had to go. I got a couple of quotes for re-positioning and replacing with a more compact, modern model with a £600 difference from various contractors for identical work. I mentioned to my mum that I didn't like the pushy sales approach from one guy and the inexperience I picked up on from another company and so she passed on the number of the guys who fitted hers a couple of years ago. Mike came out to see me later that day and we discussed what I wanted and the model I had been recommended by others. Not knowing the first thing about boilers i naively trusted what I had previously been told by other contractors about this particular model being wonderfully super efficient and perfect for my home blah blah blah... Anyway, I received the quote which had a couple of model options and decided this time to do a little research and subscribe to Which online to see what they recommended. It turned out that the model I was initially looking at was a right load of crap with no end of reported problems and that one from the Vaillant range which worked out just a tiny bit more was actually a top rated one. Factor in the free extended warranty and I was sold! The work started a couple of weeks later and Dean was absolutely lovely, professional, friendly and very tidy! I think he left my kitchen tidier than when he found it!!!! I also had a radiator fitted which I supplied myself and when it developed a leak Mike was quick to send someone round to remove this whilst I returned the faulty item to Wickes for a replacement, then return later to fit the new one. I expected to pay for this as it wasn't something MET Gas had supplied and had taken 2 visits to rectify but was really surprised when I was told there was no charge ... how's that for customer service !! It's probably pregnancy hormones making me gush like this but seriously, these guys are amazing! I'm hard to please at the best of times so they must have done something right! I can't recommend MET Gas enough. It's always nice to find a good contractor and these guys are more than good...they're great ! THANKS AGAIN MIKE AND THE TEAM

  21. to be deemed in priority need, as a single male, you need to have a diagnosed mental health issue for which you are currently receiving treatment. if you are working then the temporary accommodation they place you (if you are lucky enough to be offered this) will have sky high rents for which you will noly be able to claim a small amount of housing benefit towards. the rents are higher then even a penthouse appartment in say Ward Brewery complex!! You may be best popping into Guinness Northern Counties and requesting a housing application pack, quicker still register online...they're the only housing association i know with open waiting lists. would be worth registering on the council's housing register too, the procedure has changed so if you were on it before you still need to reregister. shelter do a drop in tomorrow from 1pm. You need to get there early as the queues build up quickly and it's a first come first served basis, you're not guaranteed to see someone if you get there late!!
  22. I saw that Gareth Gates was the star attraction for this birthday event ..... was he any good??
