  1. Why do you keep your bus tickets??? you are right though buses are over priced-if the government really want to keep more cars off the road then they should improve public transport and decrease prices to make them more inviting to use.
  2. I am yet to see one! that would probally make me smile too lol
  3. My 3 year old siamese/bengal cross cat- Lola, is so noisy especially early in the morning, she is driving me a little crazy. She is an indoor cat-and was before i got her for about two years, she was found by previous owner with badly infected eyes so she took her on (i have had her 9 months now) She started meowing early morning when i first got her-she was not allowed in the bedroom at this point, so i gave in and let her in the bedroom. She has now abandoned her bed and uses mine! This seemed to stop her anoying meowing around 4am. Recently she has started doing this again and she carries on for hours! she will jump on me, run around, play, try to bring me things. I kinda gather she is just bored but she does have toys and two scraching posts. Any ideas please so i can get a peaceful nights sleep?
  4. how about some kind of crafts- i used to love french knitting as a kid- (a woodern cotton reel with four nails in) or card making, this is popular at the moment. Dance routines to music (good exercise and cheap) Good luck great to see that someone cares enough to think about this for the kids
  5. I was on the 52 stagecoach bus today and the bus driver was so nice. He was wearing a black hat. I don't think i have seen someone quite so wide awake and happy at that time in the morning before! He was welcoming everyone with a 'good morning' and wishing them 'a nice day' when then got off the bus. I must say it put a smile on my face. Great to have a service with a smile.
  6. A little simular to east one noodle bar, as you choose if you want rice dish, noodle dish or soup based dish. I get the feeling that wagamama is more japanese based food. Where as east one is chinese/thai-although i am not an expert on these dishes. The set up of wagamama is simular to east one-bench for seating and may have to share table with others. More of a place to get a quick, yet tasty meal.
  7. I used my free voucher for the preview meal at Wagamama this lunchtime. My friend and i reallly enjoyed the meal. We had the three skewers of grilled chicken and spring onion coated in yakitori sauce. deep-fried chicken pieces prepared with soy sauce, And for mains:ebi raisukaree (tiger prawns with coconut and lime curry) yaki udon teppan-fried udon noodles prawns, chicken, We also had the house wine each and a bottle of tiger beer each. The Staff were very attentive and friendly. And food was fresh and lovely. We couldn't believe how many people didn't leave a tip at all!! shocking, to recieve around £40 pounds of food/drink for nothing and not even give the staff a few quid when they were clearly working very hard. You should be ashamed!!
  8. I got my tickets from this site in the end too. went last sunday to the afternoon match. And got some for next sun evening match. Got great seats too! My tickets were waiting at the box office! OH really enjoyed it. He is taking a mate with him next sun.
  9. I have mentioned Mario's before-that deal is great although a very disapointed with them this wkend!! Our order took 1 1/2 hours when quoted 45mins. i had to ring to check they hadn't forgotten us (which i hated doing so) Then when order did turn up-it was wrong! And driver was in that much of a rush he had gone before had chance to say anything! When i called they said they had sent driver out with two orders-must have got them mixed up. Said they would get back to us. When they did they asked us would we keep our food? I wasn't happy about this because it was a totally different order(And probally a cheaper one by looks of it) -plus know idea what was on the pizzas anyway, they told us the other people were happy and now eating our food! He did offer to make the food again, and give me 3 quid back, i wasn't happy it increased to £5. Eventually got all my money back, and all our order for free (minus the free garlic bread! ) So although we got free food in the end- i was ready to go to bed as it took 2 hours and arguing with the manager to get this end result. Hence we didn't actually enjoy our food as gone past the hunger stage. I understand they were busy but i wish pizza places would just be honest about the time wait when taking orders!
  10. menzals on eccy rd is nice, if it isn't raining the heated seated area is lovely. Although it is popular. In the city centre Ha Ha bar is nice and close to that is cafe rouge. you could Always try leapold square too. think you can have just a drink in most of the restaurants there.
  11. I am off tomorrow lunch time-looking forward to it. Although at work all night, finish tommorrow 9am-just hope i don't fall asleep in my noodles! lol Does anyone know-do you get the menu choice that is on their website?
  12. Bann Thai is lovely at top of eccy rd/london rd. The tapas bar on eccy rd is very cosy-believe now has changed to La Tasca. Felicini next door is also nice.
  13. thanks i will try to get some for sunday maybe.
  14. i know this may be a bit of a long shot, as i get the impression they are in high demand, but does anyone know if there is a chance of getting snooker tickets for the world championships in sheff this coming fortnight?
  15. If you get off at the western park stop walk along the side of the hospital, past dental and jessops. you reach the royal hallamshire via minor injuries. down some steps. only a few mins walk down hill. It is usually a good service although tonight i was waiting 40 mins before getting on a bus. Two were full that turned up in close consession. 25 mins wait for the next two (following each other!) was freezing! they are ment to run 'about every 7 mins'.
  16. my parents mix a few hand fulls of dried food with cooked rice. This is ligher for his stomach. they mainly do this for weight control, but also feed more rice if his tummy is upset.
  17. Tescos on infirmary rd today had buy one get one free on bags of parsnips (500g). They were selling them at 10p as the use by date was in a few days time. They had tons of them, and more out back by what they were saying at checkout. looks like someone had ordered a few too many.
  18. I went four years ago to sunny beach resort. Really enjoyed it. i was actually pleasently surprised with the place. I was expecting it to be more unclean and poor than what i saw. As the previous post said that is is a poor country-but they visited a different area to myself. Sunny beach is set up for the tourists, and the paths are new, wide and the area was kept clean. Mostly flat aswell along the main streches. One thing i must stress is book a 3/4 star plus hotel, as any less looked awful-you could tell there had been lots of recent new hotels-and still others being built. And i reccomend air con-as it can get hot. We stayed at hotel Korona http://www.bulgariansearesorts.com/hotels/korona_hotel_219.html This is classed as a 3/4 hotel, and we were all really pleased with it. The hotel was kept very clean and the rooms were comfortable. We stayed on a B&B basis and breakfast was a buffet style cooked english and continetal and again was good. we found that alot of swedish and Danish visit Bulgaria. They are lovely people very friendly and they actually queue which makes a change to some other nations on holiday! There was plenty of choice of resturants on the resort, and then you could eat and have a drink or two for a fiver per head. (Although they have changed to the euro now, not sure how much this had changed things) We did find the restuarant/bar owners pushy to get you to eat in their resturant yet they were also friendly and happy to chat. We found it best to just tell them we had eaten-maybe tomorrow-they soon leave you alone then. Word of warning- DONT eat the hot dogs from the street vendors- myself and my mum got food posioning from one. We shared one and both suffered for 24hrs-and we took drugs from chemist to help-who told us that the hot dogs were not good to have. Alcohol was very cheap-averaged 70p a pint (often buy one get one free) The happy hours varied from bar to bar-so you just hoped along to the next one! They are some good trips to go on also. My mum and brother went to the mountains-very pretty from the photos. We all went for an evening at Khan's tent- Night of danicing, fire acts, magic etc with meal and Bottle of wine per person!! Great for adults and kids. Nessebar is also worth a visit on market day a lovely little village with great fish resturants. Hope that helps.
  19. Can anyone tell me is there is a Somerfield store on or around Halifax road? I used their store locator on the website which told me there is a store in this location. However after driving around for about 20 mins i could not find it. The only thing that i thought could be the store was the construction work taking place oppersite Halfords. Anyone know if this construction site is to be a somerfield store? It didn't say on the website that it is opening soon, made out that this store is already open!
  20. The best one we used (although it actually was true!) was when i was a student. we were on our way to placement-had to get train to scunthorpe from sheffield. my friend was getting on train and i accidently knocked her shoe off with my case-which fell onto the tracks under the train. The conductor said we had to get off train and wait for it to go before we could retrive her shoe. It was an hour wait at the train station for the next train, we did go into work but were late. The staff were laughing at us saying it was the best excuse ever.
  21. Sounds like could be kennel cough as mentioned before in previous posts. My parents dog has been to vet this wk been told he has it (they dont live in sheff thou) He was sick about 3 times when out walking then 8 times in an hour. so they took him to vet to be told he had kennel cough. Must have picked it up from the woods from other dogs-highly contagious. The vets made sure no other dogs were in waiting room when he went out and also moped floor after he left! (poor little leper!) Starts of with 12 hrs of sickness and then coughing, they caught him early. He had injection, then wks of antibiotics. No contact with other dogs for a week. So poor Jasper will have to have path walks-he won't be a happy dog.
