When The Ravens Used To Arrive At Brigg My Hometown In A Orange Bedfoed Dormobile With Jimmy Crawford And The Ravens Printed On The Side Of It I Used To Help With Offloading The Guitars And Amplifiers At The Venue "the Corn Exchange" Which They Would Be Performing In The Evening And Jimmy Would Arrive Later In His Car. I was a friend of Jmmys in the 60s/70s he came to Brigg in Lincolnshire to perform at the local dance hall "the corn exchange"and autograph his first single "Love or Money" at my friends record shop "Spencer Molloys" Jimmy later recorded "i love how you love me" getting in the charts. Jimmy also had a part performing in the Billy Fury film "Play it Cool" directed by Michael Winner. I remember Jimmy and the Ravens backing Bobby Vee on tour and Jimmy stole the show and arrived at the gaumont cinema in Doncaster in a pink cadilac. He also had two sets of drummers in the group on that tour. I remember Frank White in the group but thought he emigrated to australia. I new Jimmy Ryder as he originated from Scunthorpe and before he formed the group "The Shantels" he was known as Jimmy Ryder and the Nightriders" i think. Jimmy Crawford was a great entertainer and artist and also spent a spell in las vegas. Is the Frank White who performs at "The Pheasant" in sheffield Jimmys ex guitarist. I hope Jimmy and Maureen have fully recovered from the car crash and has anybody got a contact telephone number or address i could have. Peter Clark.
