  1. I've just laughed as well, why do they these parents think that they are so special that they don't need to take their kids shopping and buy proper shoes. Instead of buying Vans trainers why not use the money and buy two pairs of shoes and have some money left over.
  2. Beautifully said sham.69er Not Wales but to Iraq and let them see if they can do any better. At least they wouldn't be here protesting against the Government that was good enough to let them in and feed them, house them and give them money. (I have to work for mine)
  3. It seems like a lot more people are interested in this subject now. Approx 400 have signed the petition against evicting the farmer from the land. ref - Sheffield Star, 5th November 2007 http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/Grazing-row-splits-parish.3442744.jp
  4. Don't worry if it was, it will only be collecting more signatures on one of the petitions to keep the sheep on the land.
  5. Is there any truth in the rumour that a councillor is having a farmers sheep evicted from a field on Black Lane at Loxley so that he can graze his horses there instead. If so tut tut.
  6. As well as kids walking to school, traffic and carbon blah blah, do the council and those concerned have to take into account making and breaking people ?. ie if North Stannington can't go to Bradfield will the owners will get major negative equity on thier property and would the opposite happen if WPV gets into the catchment for Bradfield, would WPV owners get a sudden major increase in property prices. Just a thought....
  7. Ones ? I thought they were only building one. (might be wrong) Anyway, no thanks, not on the main road. Why, because Bovis have had planning refused on the Marshalls site for housing, so now it looks like they are going to regenerate the site for industry - could now mean instead of more cars going up and down Loxley Road it could mean lots more of heavy lorries going up and down.
  8. I know it's green belt now, but with the government pushing for more houses and green belt being released in other cities, you never know. Also it would join nicely onto the nearby estates just making them a bit bigger.
  9. Land for sale at Loxley http://www.bagshaws.com/prpty/prop_det.asp?htm=B50082a&pdf= Could this be a development at last of much needed / sought after housing in the Loxley Valley.
  10. No you can't ask D.O.B 'cause that gives away their age ,and it doesn't have to be on their c.v.
  11. But under the new laws you can't find out / ask somebodys age untill you've taken on / employed them. Then if by some chance the best person for the job that you have just employed happens to be under 25, you then have to contact your insurance company to arrange to pay a premium.
  12. Not looking at that house up from the Rodney having the dormer windows fitted. I thought that you needed planning for those.
  13. Exactly ! Thats because the builders can't get planning to build in nice areas because the people already living there fight tooth and nail to keep them away.
  14. Isn't it strange that you never hear of people living in apartments (built according to planning guidelines) complaining about other apartments being built near to them.
  15. Anyway, I originally asked why ALL building gets stopped in Loxley. All the answers so far point to personal choice - whether to build or not to build. If it's decided that nobody either big or small can't build, then maybe when the few kids that are left have grown up, I can come back and buy one of the older properties and live quietly in this lovely retirement village.
