  1. Clever clogs, Thyme in Broomhill is still Thyme in Broomhill - Thyme in CROSSPOOL is now Artisan and has been for much longer than six months!!
  2. Thanks - then ivory is lovely but is a wee bit pricey for not very much food, which is absolutely fine if you're in the mood. Thyme is also fantastic but we go there all the time. Have ended up booking the milestone on kelham island. Has anyone been?
  3. I want to go for dinner somewhere different tomorrow night, preferably somewhere newish, and in city centre, broomhill, crookes or eccleshall, that isn't too expensive. No curries or chinese please! Anyone got any suggestions?
  4. Ok, trying to resurrect this thread which got lost sometime at the end of november. Is anyone going to see the guillemots at the leadmill next week? Also going to the NME Indie Rave night at plug the sunday after, impossibly excited about that. Did anyone actually ever arrange a night out? Poor show from all of us.
  5. was anyone listening to the Chris Moyles show around half 9 this morning? They read out the top ten best-selling UK albums in the last 50 years which were a bit surprising, and I can't remember them now. Can anyone remember what the top ten was?!
  6. YES!!! I am!b How much do you want for them! My sister is leeds too and she would love to go. PM me if you haven't already sold them!
  7. Oops, Sorry! I paid 14.50 each but that included a booking fee (from see tickets.com). I would happily accept £15 for both of them, or nearest offer. Thanks
  8. I have 2 tickets for saturday night's Boy Kill Boy gig at the Plug if anyone wants to make me an offer for them. I live in crookes if you need to come and collect them.
  9. Basil, if you juice your fruit/veg, you remove all of the pulp which effectively removes all of the fibre from it. You still have the vitamins etc, but it won't count toward your 5-a-day, as that recommendation is predominantly so you get the right amount of fibre. I am a juicing/smoothie geek, and I think the best way is to blend fruit with some natural yoghurt - you DO NOT need a smoothie maker, these are blenders with an extra £30 charged! Plus, there are a lot of fruits you physically can't juice, like bananas, but are really good in smoothies. I have quite a good blender where the jug comes off and a food processer fits on the top, so you don't even have to chop your fruit before you put it in the blender - you can process it first then stick it in the blender. It also has an ice crusher built in. Can't remember the model but it wasn't expensive. Hope that helps!
  10. Heyesey, the goal of cancer research is not only to improve diagnosis and treatment of cancer, but also to improve the lives of those people who have incurable but non-aggressive forms of the disease so that their lives can carry on as near-to-normal as possible. The fact that more people are surviving or living with cancer, although fantastic for the patients and their families, is actually a larger burden on health services than if they were dying - dead people cost zero money to look after. Services for people with cancer - palliative care, chemotherapy drugs and centres, pain control, etc etc, cost the health service billions every year, so billions need to be available to fund them.

  13. I would love to, unfortunately theres a birthday do that I have to go to. Do you fancy coming along on the 4th? Em x
  14. Ok girls and boys, nows the time to stop all the talking and start with some doing. Further to Mr MTheos suggestion, I hereby propose that we take a trip to the bedroom on Oct 4th (Wed)- there are 8 or 9 different people in this thread so we should have a pretty good night. All those in favour say aye.............
  15. I would definitely be up for that. gutted that the NME gig at the leadmill is sold out, was looking forward to seeing the fratellis. There are some great bands playing at the leadmill in the next couple of months - hot chip, the gossip, and then dirty pretty things are playing at the octagon. Em xxx
