  1. Ditch the bike and do all car drivers a favour then catch the H1 bus!!!!!
  2. If there are more of them perhaps they can pay more attention to Station Road Chapeltown. The yellow single line is a waste of time as it is completely ignored most of the time causing chaos. C E O`s do ticket vehicles ocassionally but not often enough.
  3. According to recent report in The Star we will all have to get used to no street lights soon, or dimmer ones at certain times
  4. Is it just me that thinks it is scary that someone is driving around and not paying attention to well signed speed limits on a major trunk road. Perhaps they should concentrate more on their driving and not on their holiday!!
  5. They are emptying blue bins and boxes on the 2 bank holidays so why no black bin collection. I suppose they will work half a day on blue bin collection and get paid for a full days work! I would have thought it made more sense to empty black bins, as they normally do on bank holidays, as most people will have extra waste at this time. Veollia web site says they will take "a small ammount of extra waste" if it is bagged up next time they collect. Who is to define what a small ammount of waste is, us THE CUSTOMER or the bin men?
  6. Had black bin emptied today and bin men left a tag informing us NO collection next Tuesday. Thought bin men usually work bank holidays esp. after recent extra days off they have had! So once again we have to do their job for them and take excess rubbish to dumpit site or have smelly food waste hanging around for 2 weeks. No chance of them getting a tip this year!
  7. Had 2 deliveries by posties on foot this afternoon (letters only) 15 mins apart! yes 2 different postpersons. Recently posted items not delayed ones
  8. Dont go with 3, in my experience customer service v. poor and reception not good. Orange deals good and now share coverage with T Mobile also good customer service. Some good deals online with mobiles direct (upgrades as well)
  9. So knowing you wouldnt be able to get back on your road you still dug your car out and now park it on a main road obstructing traffic flow. What a fine upstanding citizen you are!!!
  10. Delivery this morning 1st since last tues. Xmas card posted 2nd class on saturday (4th dec) delivered this morning! no backlog mail delivered yet.
  11. No delivery S35 since Tuesday. 1130 this morning delivery office on Burncross Road closed up and all vans inside
  12. Crown garage A629/A61 @ High Green open (Jet garage)
  13. Ours came @ 0935 this morning, earliest we have seen one for months!!!!!!!
  14. crazy lights outside Travelers on Ecclesfield Common, heading towards Chapeltown you sit going nowhere at red light when traffic heading towards Sheffield has green light. None of this traffic is able to turn right in front of you so why no green light for traffic heading to Chap at same time. I know the junction is worked like this to allow traffic to turn right into Green Lane but surely a right turn filter could be worked in at the end of the main road phase.
  15. I see in post No 10 the O P states they are talking to veollia on the phone, as we have not seen their reply posted are we to asume the O P was told to go away and stop being a busy body?
  16. Very good Renault repair garage on Meadowbank Rd, Rotherham end, near to jet garage. Can`t remember name of them at moment. They sorted problem on my megane 2 other garages hadn`t a clue what was wrong but they sorted it in 1 hour at reasonable cost. Renault specialist in Barnsley said ecu was u/s approx cost £500! Rotherham garage sorted it for £90. Just found details J S Services, Meadowbank Road, Rotherham S61 2NF 01709550553
  17. Try the new Q park multistorey on Rockingham Street near the university, where the assay office used to be.
  18. Kirkstal Rd way is easiest did this sat @ 4.45 am took 3/4hr exactlyat steady 60mph on motorway. You would need longer later in the day but I allways go this way
  19. It was prob same dipstick who cut me up on the nearside yesterday lunchtime on roundabout near Asda @ Handsworth. I was in o/s lane to go straight on at roundabout ( commig down past Asda towards Darnall) as per signs and road markings, as I entered roundabout and was about to change lanes as road markings indicate, police car that was on my nearside at the roundabout sailed sereenly over the hatch markings in n/s lane and cut across me and drove down towards Darnall. No he was not speeding nor did he have lights or siren on. obviously he hasn`t passed his test yet!!
  20. Not seen any around Chapeltown/Burncross since early hours of morning. Burncross Road is lethal. Would help if numpties comming down hill slowed down GENTLY and didn`t cause uphill drivers to have to stop and then get stuck
  21. I seem to recall students in these flats attend Hallam Uni.
  22. Big issue sellers in city centre used to be regulated by city centre ambassadors, try reporting obnoxious ones to them or to city centre management team.
  23. Man`s basic need---s-x. Beats a good fry up any day-just!!!
  24. 1) people who think they can park any where on a Sunday in city centre e.g. across top of Fargate blocking emergency access, on double yellow lines ( they "operate" 24/7), on paved areas on Surrey St., in Tudor Square-read the notices on the lighting posts and on the wall. 2) Park in a stupid place--throw a blue badge on the dashboard( issued to disabled drivers or disabled passengers)--and then get out of the car and run to the shop/pub/post office. 3) Drive a First bus-- most of them are ignorant of the highway code and are visualy challenged.
