  1. I'd have them banned in the streets if it was up to me. I nearly knocked a zombiefied young girl down the other day who was totally oblivious to me due to her listening habit.
  2. Please! Consider it a privelidge for enlightening me upon several facts re the syndrome which were, prior to this gripping debate, unknown to me. Yes, JAS attacks. Thankfully treatment for this unfortunate behavioural flaw is now widely available in the form of a 'punch in the mouth' which almost always does the trick, so to speak
  3. I was under the impression that Sydroma only carried out secondary studies after all the groundwork was done by Bosano. It's interesting to note that a person can have a craving to enter a space which they cannot possibly fit into. A recent study in Holland showed that almost 2% of teenagers questioned said that they had experienced this desire at some time at least once in the previous year. Another classic symptom is the delusion that a room containing furniture, ornaments, etc, is an empty shell. In severe cases, a sufferer may even perceive the room to be an outdoor scene such as a meadow or a lake.
  4. I have read a couple of fascinating articles on ERS, and am surprised to discover that at least one or two of you seem to have heard of it. Apparently it is more common in males but in some areas - paricularly in Eastern Europe - the percentage of affected women is much, much higher. The condition was discovered in Latin America in the eighties by Valazquez Bosano. The phenomena is often refered to as 'the plain-size-up systema'. The tell-tale signs that you may have contracted the condition are of a feeling of 'general roominess' in the peripheral digestive tracts and a sense of 'denseness' within the short-term consciousness. Little is known about the cause of it.
  5. Well, that will delight the workers in the national road-cone factory. Job security for at least twenty years and as much overtime as they like.
  6. His nationality was changed to Italian , actually. Fawlty Towers was the best comedy sitcom ever shown. The racism and political incorrectness aspects stem from the fact that the programmes were made in the seventies when this was all the rage.
  7. I wonder how many fag ends Walking Man had stuffed in his gob over the years as he stood walking outside the old egg box?
  8. I eat fast food for convenience now and again. I really can't see any harm in this. Everyone is becoming depressingly obsessed with the need to avoid the stuff like the plague. Silly.
  9. I once tried steak and oyster flavoured crisps back in the early eighties. Although I managed to finish the packet, I had decided I wouldn't try them again after the very first crunch. I also hate sour cream and chive crisps. Just awful.
  10. Well blow me: I have done this too. You must have worked in the wax department in a lost wax invesrtment casting foundry such as Centaur, Thorntons, or MacKennas. And I bet you made a lot of waxes for medical implants? I'm right aren't I?
  11. I totally agree. I wasn't being 'arsey' with you, just the 'science' behind the thinking and the personal politics. l support the cause.
  12. It takes just over an hour to get to Cleethorpes, but coming back is a much quicker as you just want to 'get the hell out of there'. Superb fish and chips, though. And almost worth the journey for that alone.
  13. I used to tell girls that I was a shepherd. You'd be amazed how many believed me. If they did, it was great conversation maker as it fascinated them. They would often ask me if I could do the special whistles, but I told them I had an electronic device that made the noises, this got me out of a tight spot as I can't whistle for the life of me.
  14. I don't think it will bother her too much if they drop her, mate - she's a millionnaire and a young, good looking one at that. Your'e not. Get the picture?
  15. Sure, it's a great idea and deserves support, but when celebrities get involved in projects such as this, I am always sceptical as to how much of it is is genuine do-gooding, and how much of it is raw publicity-seeking. And shouldn't he be spending more time at home with his own small children? Surely he's not purposely keeping out of the way like a lot of dads do while the difficult period is over? Hmmmm.
  16. I'm not too worried about the roots. The tree was cropped about four years ago,as were the trees on the whole street, after I complained to the council. They must hate me. I have the best bit of pavement and the tidiest apple tree on Myrtle Road.
  17. I am going out with some friends on Easter Sunday night. We are meeting in the Dev Cat so might see some forum members there hopefully.
  18. I once had counselling for a stress related problem, and felt more depressed afterwards. In my case, it was total waste of time. Sorry.
  19. I used to be in there nearly every night during the late '70's and early '80's.
  20. Pointless post: I love animals. I posted it at a vulnerable moment. Sorry Ruby. I'll explain myself away on Easter Sunday in the Dev Cat if you are having a meet that night. By the way: my elbow is still bad.
  21. Wouldn't it be better all around if we kept our own animals and killed them as we saw fit, whether it be for food purposes or just through plain frustration, taking the 'kicking the cat' scenario a step or two further?
  22. Exactly 14 months after my official complaint, I came home from work last night to find that a brand-new asphalt layer had been laid outside my house and the two houses either side of me. It looks very nice, too. It just goes to prove that If you shout loud enough, you get action. Even if it is does take a long time.
  23. That is just too weird, Joe. It freaks me out when something like that happens.
  24. She is pretty, sid. Of that there is no doubt.
