This isn't true. If you read the back of your licence you will find you only need one if - "you watch or record TV programmes as they are being shown on TV". If you use BBC iPlayer, 4OD, ITV Player etc you don't need one! I now don't have or need one! - Link

On the face of it I suppose it doen't make more sense, I was just trying to show how science hasn't got anymore answers as anyone else. Next they'll be saying we all came from apes.... oh wait...
