Discover new moves from such diverse sources as Bollywood and traditional Chinese folklore! With the dance evolving into many spheres, we felt the time was right to bring something completely original to the oriental festival scene. To this end we have scoured the world of dance to find two performers we feel will complement the existing roster, and may even give you some new ideas or techniques to take away: Raqs Britannia 2010 introduces, from Toronto, acclaimed classical and bollywood teacher Lopa Sarkar, and from closer to home the teachers and performers from the award-winning Chinese Art Troupe Red Fan Dance. These workshops are both introductions to new and different dance forms, but also have within them the same feeling and disciplines of both oriental and tribal. Alongside all the workshops, you can enjoy superb shopping with the beautiful ballroom. This is also where you sit and watch the all-day dancing on stage, featuring tribal, fusion, oriental and more! Raqs Britannia has a reputation for delivering some of the most exciting after party entertainment, and this year is no exception.
