  1. Long time ago we had to take our neighbors to court and they were removed. Has been fine since then. Do think mobile phones and modern earphones have reduced majority but not all noise issues.
  2. BBC is planning to do a new series of gladiators in Sheffield arena.
  3. Sheffield council now says the delays costs them 1.2 million in lost income. Did think the clean air was the real issue for this expensive zone.
  4. I forgot to mention when 2007 floods happened look north had a little 4 minute piece on this.
  5. Rotherham new York stadium capacity is 12.000. There were 28.6K people at bramall lane last night.
  6. Channel 4 news had a little moment in Sheffield tonight. Game is over now and final in Wembley stadium. Sheffield is competing for next Eurosong competition but since we don't have an airport don't think we'll get it.
  7. No not during hottest day. Year has 4 seasons. If buses would have air conditioning OAP would bus-hop now for that.
  8. Aren't certain OAP card holders bushopping as well now to stay warm in winter cause they can't afford current gas prices?
  9. Trams are running again to meadowhall and Rotherham now according to Twitter announcement. I will need one for tomorrow's Netherlands vs France game.
  10. Then get the passengers to push the tram for 50% discounts on their ticket.
  11. Maybe just go back to the old fashioned horse drawn trams again without cables. It will be better than nothing.
  12. You're probably right but to be honest my old fridge botten trays are falling apart as well but haven't had any vandals in house.
  13. Don't know how old it was but my bus yesterday it's seat in front of me was falling apart broken to pieces. Maintenance is more important than age seen some good old buses out there and new ones that struggle with a Sheffield hill.
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-36849648
  15. That will be a very bad design since like you mentioned earlier it's not advisable to suddenly shock a warm engine with cold coolant. If that heating system uses a heat exchanger to separate cabin heating and engine coolant fluids it will not matter and engine will be safe. All that is needed on modern bus is a decent fan by the coolant radiator but I suspect these radiator fan they have now are not good enough putting many busses in limp mode when they encounter one of Sheffield decent hills. By the way I rather see a bus crawl uphill in limp mode than be in position of topic poster
  16. I see buses go in limp mode even when going up moderate hills in Sheffield on a normal còol day. These fan are not good enough for a hot day like yesterday and my bus was crawling uphill but did fine on level areas. And you are very right about putting cold water in a hot engine be catastrophic therefore the cold water can get mixed with the hot coolant in the radiator before it reaches the engine. The buses I take do not use cabin heater in such emergency ways and go in limp mode or shut down or sometimes even never show up. Last time I ever put heater on to prevent overheating was 15 years ago on a long steep hill on a very hot day, modern vehicles control their heat much better now.
  17. I also respect the drivers. But buses do these things automatically. Because if the driver had to do it and would forget or fail to put heater on when coolant is overheating the engine will be toast.
  18. Hey that's ok. I'm no bus engineer expert and am comparing them to certain cars. The bus I took today was boiling inside but that was like you said cause the ambient air was hot. I'm purely guessing here but it would not surprise me if buses were designed to put heater on by default when coolant fluids is overheating going up a steep hill to assist this process.
  19. It's been nice windy today it helps in the shade with a breeze not too bad.
  20. There should be a powerful fan by the coolant radiator that assists to cool that off when engine is working hard. Our car has one of these fan and it comes on frequently on a hot day when city driving. These fan don't cost much and it's a cheap lazy poor substitute to switch on cabin heaters to reduce engine coolant temperature.
  21. Aircon also consumes lots of energy.
  22. Sheffield Trams suspended now because of heat expansion issues. Saw one earlier today in center thinking they are ok but one hour later I wanted to take one and they were all gone.
  23. Maybe engine was overheating and put heating on to decrease engine coolant temperature. Was that bus going up a steep hill?
  24. When they get there having missed their greatest opportunities when many foreign visitors were in Sheffield. Local people will see and eventually call them the cuntainers of fargate. I question how efficient these will be to heat in the winter with current gas prices. The big TV screen aka a sports bar will draw certain types of customers. Just imagine walking on fargate on a quiet day and someone scores or wins and all the noise and tensions suddenly coming from these cuntainers. With all these homeless laying around its ridiculous.
