A* at English me love - maybe you just don’t understand.

No one has explained the link between the two - not that I can find.

so what is the link between the speeding delivery driver and the child abusers?

Testosterone. It causes increased macho and aggressive behaviour in repressed cultures.

This is a scientific fact and has nothing to do with racism.

Is English your 2nd language? I can only assume so since your comprehension isn't quite where it should be for a native speaker.

I suggest you go get a friend, preferably one who is a native speaker, go back through the posts and work out the link. I mean it was made quite clear at least twice.

This topic has gone very funny.

I feel sorry for resident he must live a very sad desperate life saying all this here.

Do you mean Hyde Park? Park hill area the flats adjacent to the rail station.

The cricket Inn rd incident, park hill area.. David Ford age 62 was a good friendly Sheffield man with a great sense of humor. It was always nice to have a chat with him.

We were not close enough for me to go to funeral but I will put flowers at the place I knew him to be most often.

  4. Apparantly this happened by carbrook tramstop. There is a footbridge there behind ikea that goes from tramstop to tinsley locks. Is that footbridge accessible now? I am meeting someone there where the boats are early today.

And of coarse RIP those who ran on the tracks there and got hit by the tram.

Walked by canal yesterday and noticed lots of trams were using airhorn signals yesterday much more than usual. Were some people playing games there?

  5. There are so called professional online sites begging and others making all sorts off sneaky pitfalls you can accidentally fall into without even noticing.

In my eyes these online thieves beggars are worse and dirtier than the ones I see on Sheffield's street.

Keep eyes open, check what boxes are tick. Don't just say yes okay buy without checking on strange unknown sites.

And think twice before paying for idiotic memberships. Re-check all memberships you have every 6 months if they are still beneficial.

If you cannot get out for 12 months or longer have a very very good think about it and check them out on forums online before going for it searching discussions on these contracts.

  6. When something is too good or cheap to be true from a company like BT or mobile phone then smell a cunning trick.

They are no different from fisherman throwing out their hooks. As soon as you bite they wait few months and the prices rise for a very long time with no way to get out.

This has been known for a long time and people should know better now.

If it seems too cheap to be possible smell an upcoming problem, however things are changing.

At the moment the economy has changed a little and certain good sales are true now. Companies are losing customers cause these people are cutting back everywhere to prepare for upcoming national financial problems.

I am getting emails from MS and Oak Furniture Land begging me to order stuff immediately for 50% discount but you have to decide before midnight.

These are desperate to keep movement going and will sell at never seen before prices to previously good customers in some desperate way to keep things moving. Am I going to spent my money on food, gas, petrol or a new oak blanket box, shops like OFL are trying very very hard to stay in this game by chopping their own profits.

BT trick is an old one and am little surprised people are still falling for it.

hardly exciting Tesco Express is more expensive that other Tesco stores

A little planning and you never ever need one. Can count the times we ever been in one on one hand.

Will spend the extra money shopping in MS they are not cheap but far better quality than a tespress.

As daft as it sounds, older movies would get me in the cinema more. Films that I have watched on the TV because I wasn't old enough or mum & dad were brassic so I never got to see them on the big screen.

I'm a massive Ghostbusters fan, because I have the tools and the talent, and I would love to see the full trilogy, back to back if possible on the big screen.

Recently we've had other sequals from 80s/90s movies. If they'd played the originals for a few weeks before the new releases, THAT would have brought more in.

You are probably right, they would attract more people with old classics than something mediocre like bullet train.

Next friday evening one double bill coming, top gun 1986 + top gun maverick.

They do some old bond movie ones every monday evening.

And 40 anniversary showings of ET the extra terrestrial first weekend of sept andJaws directer cut in imax week after that.

  9. This weekend only new western movie at cineworld is the new fisherman friends that has 33% at rottentomatoes site.

Cineworld is not going to keep running a large cinema with so few and mediocre movies.

At the moment they have nope and dragon ball super hero as well that started recently,

Their shelves are more or less empty still playing months old blockbusters and bollywood stuff.

  10. It has been mentioned on several news sites that Cineworld is preparing to file for bankruptcy now. Their stock value has fallen two thirds in value and they are in great debt.

Not enough people came back after lockdown and not enough blockbusters to attract them to come. This year has been especially bad with only few releases and showing as much bollywood as hollywood stuff . They say that this will improve again around November when much more new releases are coming again  this winter.

They have around 9K screens in 10 countries and 28000 employees worldwide.

Personally hope they manage to reshape their finances a bit and save Sheffield Cineworld if possible.

Ok so sod the rent, sod the rates, a few flowers is all that is needed?

    It would achieve very little.

It would achieve little with trolls like yourself. You would need to lighten up first a bit and open your eyes in a way that appreciated life instead of some metal containers. It's your choice I'm not surprised.

So "trying nothing" would have been your preferred option then @dutch?

Sheffield city centre skyline is full high risers. Its main streets have many boarded up areas and closed shops.

"Trying too hard" can create more problems that could have been solved in simpler ways.

Creating a large massive area with lots of colourful flowers on fargate will attract more shoppers and business than some containers.

Being creative can have beautiful results, and does not need this hopeless effort of throwing some containers on fargate.

It makes me laugh cause they thought it would be a cheap thing to do but (I have not seen the actual figures) will certainly cost loads more than they budgeted for.

Why is everyone so against this? Newcastle had something similar called the Stack bang in the city Center which had street food places and bars in it with walkways around and a stage for live bands to play on which was a cracking venue and for an outdoor venue quite well covered. Why can’t we just wait and see what it’s like before writing it off.

We will see but Sheffield annual food market that's held right there has been spiralling downwards in interest over last few year.

Putting containers is not going to make people suddenly want food again.

Places like Netherlands used containers because there is an enormous shortage of space and real estate, it is a completely different issue.

Here they think it is something artistic or creative.

Picasso had his own style or opinions, don't think Sheffield council knows what it is doing.
