  1. Cutting is normal now we live in the times and are part of the cut it generation that has to do with less. No need to panic it's the way it is.
  2. Chekhov I have a question. How well do you know the sheffield star and its behaviour? They claim to be a paper representing sheffield but do the weirdest things to keep sales going. Just calm down and check them out a bit before getting worried. Sheffield star can twist and blow out of proportions or announce little ideas as if it is happening tomorrow.
  3. Also seen that big photo and headline when walking through shop yesterday. First thought that went through my mind was that Sheffield star is looking for sales and attention again by means of scaremongering. Considering someone worried scared started a topic on forum about this they succeeded.
  4. That may be a downer to you other people can see something positive in it respecting the victim in the song. It says more about how your own brain works in your case often downwards.
  5. In Netherlands they did it in Rotterdam the most criminal rotten drugs infested with huge poverty ridden council estates saying maybe it will lighten things up a bit there. But it made no difference only thing was that there was a good underground supply network for visitors. After all this bad news about the shootings in Liverpool and this little girl getting killed last month, they may hope eurosong will lighten things up. Maybe someone sing a song called olivia.
  6. Eurosong will go to Liverpool. I guess partly because beatles came from there. It would have costed Sheffield lots more money if that had come here.
  7. I have waited more than once for a tram that never came. Until I checked the twitter info on recent disruptions and found out about accidents or failure that is not always displayed properly on the live led information at stops either. This information cannot be put on posters, do you really think that when accident breakdown derailment or cabletheft happens employees will race to tramstops to put posters?
  8. Best thing to do is check times on the supertramapp and twitter for any supertram incidents. No matter where or what time of day when waiting for tram.
  9. Thank you padders, good long clear explanation of current situation, reading that was almost a little trip in itself.
  10. Interesting question. I know the answer but very few people here will understand or agree with it. Not owning a TV is something different from not watching it. Even when I see a TV there is so much rubbish on it I am not really watching it. Rather go to cinema to watch a good movie. I always wonder what goes on in their head when someone stares fully focused at advertising with the most ridiculous lies manipulating their feelings and emotions. Another option is to swap between streaming services. 1 or 2 months netflix and watch what you like, cancel and get disney and when you get bored cancel it and go to next one. Keep hopping from service to service watch the best stuff and when you get back later on more new fresh stuff will be there.
  11. When someone has a seizure this can feel just like everything is blacking out, I know because that has happened to me and that is a medical issue nothing to do with powercuts. Most places have circuit breakers now but perhaps in some old pub they still use fuses, and if it goes this is not considered a powercut but called a local poweroutage.
  12. When I was little loved to watch the muppet show. Taking buses is often a similar experience.
  13. Probably cause no powercuts happened in sheffield. When using the filter option it shows there were 5 reported powercuts that were restored last night 3 in grimsby and 2 in newcastle.
  14. Power cuts map | Northern Powergrid Haven't had a powercut for years, once the lights flickered a few seconds but our old bedside clock had not reset to 0000 due to power shortage.
  15. When using timetables it may be wise to be waiting few minutes before since I have noticed few buses I've been on last week were few minutes ahead.
  16. Only thing that improved last few years is the online computer location system that checks when and where the buses are. I still remember standing waiting long time and it would not be unusual to see 3 buses bumper to bumper coming, this has been sorted. Lately certain buses have been busier than they used to be. But I have seen how certain people can give drivers a hard time. Often because they cannot pay or want a free ride, this seems to be getting worse since rising gasprices.
  17. It was 75or6 from firth park to town. I do think this happened on that day that arundal gate was closed and everything got messed up. This was rather extreme but on normal days it has been getting a lot bussier there lately. I realise more than ever that this freedom to use a bus all depends on the drivers without them the bus will not come or go anywhere.
  18. This is going to be interesting as to see what is really going to happen now. I have been on busses recently that are absolutely jampacked and a dubbledecker that passed stops with people holding their hands out because the bus was too full at 12 PM on a weekday. I have started to use the estimated free seat count on the first app now to contemplate to wait extra minute when bus is too full now. Also, for several months have clearly thanked the driver even when they are not very good just to make sure they feel appreciated, we need them. We have a car but medical issues make me not drive it now.
  19. If you cannot find anyone in Sheffield do it yourself. Have a look in YouTube and search for restore old books.
  20. look north=look leeds. I stopped watching it years ago, itv calender is better. But there is not much known about penistone incident yet. Stabbing on arundel gate last night as well and it was also still closed couple hours ago.
  21. Fancy another session in the i'm bored section? Eurovision certainly not coming after reading your posts on this forum. This is my first post on this topic since I did not really care much about eurosongthing. Feel free to respond but I will only reply if you leave an intelligent meaningful answer otherwise ill just ignore it since you are not worth my time.
  22. The only royal person I shall watch this week is viola Davis the woman King Tuesday evening. She throws spears.
  23. I have more respect for someone who admits they are bored and posts there than someone wo tells others off because their egoistic feelings are hurt. Kids throwing stones is still an issue and both you and hehasrisen are telling cressida off not because you are intelligent on this issue but because your egoistic feelings are hurt deep inside that someone else with more history and posts on this forum brings a still ongoing topic back forward. To be honest half the topics in sheffields news & discuss section are just as boring as the im bored section.
