Had one of these covid booster vaccine last week and my arm was feeling bruised for a long time where this was injected.

I also remember this old forum topic discussing this grade and steepest over and over. And it went going on all over the place. Sheffield is a very hilly city.
It's not some competition between these streets of being the steepest.
Should be moved to the I'm bored section as well.

Tesco fuel known to get possibly contaminated and misfire.
-
One thing is sure and that is that sheffield has many steep roads and streets in many places.
Don't really care which one is steepest they are all pretty steep.
When friends and family visit they all say wow your not gonna cycle on that.

Bamford is in Derbyshire that's not even south Yorkshire.
Still interesting news it's a beautiful area right near the Yorkshire Derbyshire border.

Never mind TV. I go to leeds for shopping now. Anyone with smartphone and decent data contract can watch tv on their phone.
This screen was a big point of justifying these ugly containers and seeing where it is positioned do not see the point of it.
We have a big tv in our house. At first it was ok sitting on our old tv cabinet. Then we bought a bigger cabinet and top left corner view was clipped by the fireplace. Then got bigger couches and even more was of screen view was blocked from my usual place and had to move the place I sit and watch tv.
These containers do not allow much room or space to view that screen properly if it were to be ever switched on.
Unlike the 50's, people today who cannot afford the current gas prices will now have to sit together in public places to keep warm. It would have been much better and cheaper if council supplied an ordinary tv for them this winter.
-
At first I was told that it would get a very large TV screen. This is no bad idea but looking at it yesterday was not impressed by the size of it and was rather concerned that it was pulled back right in the alleyway of these containers. This would make it difficult for people to watch it and if a good world cup game would be shown people would need to stand in some sort of line to watch it on that screen.

Have a look for "mills family" on youtube.
Just imagine counting your kids and losing or forgetting count and starting all again. With current overpopulation of the earth and modern technology making people live much longer all the time. I do favour a limit on a certain maximum size a family may be.

I am being disadvantaged by Sheffield Council and won't be the only one.
Sheffield is a very good great place to live but not because of the government. The government national and local have made so many mistakes that we now have to go to Leeds for certain things.
Still sheffield is fantastic because of its people and many other things.
Courts and government have not made it one bit better lately.

The government have told the Council they MUST introduce a clean air zone to improve air quality. The government have also given the Council the money to do it. The Council have no choice in the matter.
As others have said, buses won’t actually be paying any charges. The bus companies are constantly renewing their fleets and will just prioritise Sheffield for some vehicles which are compliant and don’t incur any charge. Transport companies are exactly the same. That’s what happened in places where CAZ’s have already been introduced. ( Bath is one example).
Hackney cabs get grants to help with the cost of getting a new vehicle or retrofitting to become compliant.
Cars are exempt.
The Council won’t actually collect huge amounts of money from the charges and compliance levels will increase rapidly as soon as it comes into operation. Once compliance with the required air quality standards has been achieved and maintained over a couple of years, Councils will decommission the CAZ’s. The money that Councils get from the charges goes into a ring-fenced account to ensure the money is available for decommissioning when the job is done.
If it was not for the charge government would not have cared at all about the air. They are using money as a vice grip to pretend to do something good, why can't they do it without separating the richer people from the poorer classes of society again.
There will be many people who are disadvantaged by these rose-coloured plans. Cars and buses are getting cleaner already and there is no need for government to pretend to be some holy clean air saint all of a sudden.
I bet that more people will die by way of suicide and depression because of being disadvantaged by these governments than would have been by breathing sheffields air the way it is today.

Sheffield city centre is not busy at all it must have one of the quietest city centres of where I have lived. It is dying out like crazy. Many people leaving it and not coming back and now money hungry council is going to give it another pushback with this useless tax. We went shopping in leeds last week, even the homeless seemed wealthier and better off there and were served warm food on the sidewalk.
Taxing buses is going to be paid by those people who are having hardest time out there now causing more problems and suicides killing more people than a little unclean air would.

"Deadly smog returning to meersbrook"? I did not see the actual headline but if you had asked me who said that I would put£100 on sheffield star.
I have lived in a north American city in eighties, if you stand right at the edge of the suburb's you can actually see the sky become a pitch-black dome over the city centre at rush-hour.
Sheffield is not even close to that, nowhere near it.

Taxi £150 when booked.
Edit, ... Anyone know what they are going to charge for EU flights that week Liverpool and Manchester? £150 usually gets you return to western EU that time of year.
-
Train Sheffield to Liverpool £18 one way less than 2 hours.

I predict two things, monthly collections will become the norm sooner or later, and that Sheffield City Council (and indeed all councils and the government) are going to be doing a lot of service cutting over the next few years.
Yesterday I threw one big bag with potato peel and few rotten vegetables we kept past date in black bin, some old clothes, those would be collected separately with monthly system.

There were rolling power cuts for days after the flood water subsided. They were pretty much city wide too.
I do have medical memory failures. Will never forget 2007 that was very intense. What mood someone in when powercut happens says more about yourself. If someone want to be misserable good for them. I would not want to live without electricity or Internet but won't cry or misserable when it is off being maintained or repaired.
If paper says horrible powecuts I laugh about it, as if I should feel horrible cause they say so it's my choice

Big and painful cuts needed to fix budget, says IFS
The council has altered the bin collection to every four weeks in Old Colwyn
Again these cry cry horror worry articles are all from 2018, nothing available from after that.
If you do a little research, you will find Old Coldwyn is far better at recycling and collects Electrical and textile collection, Recycle & food waste collection, Refuse collection seperately.
50 % of what I put in my black bin would be recycled seperately in Old Coldwyn!
Collections - Check my collection day (conwy.gov.uk)
If you need a postcode to see collection days just enter LL29 9PY and choose an address to see their collections.
you have fallen for these papers again with tears in your eyes not even noticing that these are old articles and their collection system is completely different!

From memory, the problem persisted for about a week.
It shows how vulnerable the supply network is.
I was there 2007 and stayed at a friends house near the river because we could not cross the don that night. Electricity was fine. Also none of my friends mentioned any power cuts after these floods!
The article you mention clearly says:
"Some homes in the north will have to endure further, controlled power cuts over the next few days after tens of thousands of Britons were left powerless by flooding earlier this week, the local power company said."
English newspaper readers are stupid and believe and swallow anything that is given to them.
"Some homes", how many do they mean? ten or twenty? this could have been some small, planned maintenance work but the paper loves to dramatize things.
"will have to endure further", This is complete nonsense no one will have to endure anything at all and any repairs and maintenance comes as a wonderful blessing. People are stupid to think some paper can tell them to be miserable and unhappy all the time. It is their own fault they feel depressed for believing and reading these papers.
"Controlled power cuts", Last time I had a controlled power cut in my area it lasted ten seconds but the newspaper tries to make it sound like a nightmare"
They say it was the powercompany who said this but british papers dramatize what was said. they can make anything sound like a horrible nightmare while nothing too serious really happened.
I bet some employee from sheffield star at a wedding party asked a drunk sheffield counciller about saving money and they answered nonserious jokingly to collect once a month, and sheffield star puts it with big letters on the front page as if some tsunami is coming and people are panicking.
I have seen similar things happen frequently in british media several times.

1 hour ago, iansheff said:I already see black bins on my road with the lid slightly raised, so what are they going to be like if left a month between collections.
This once a month collection was front page sheffield star news.
When I saw that star headline in a shop, I just laughed about it, have seen too many stupid silly sheffield star tricks before to worry about it.
Getting upset about this is your own choice panicking fantasy started by some silly paper hoping to get some extra sales. Too lazy to check where this information comes from or how accurate this is. It is a complete joke how many people just follow the media here instantly believing anything they are told there crying and worrying without realising they are being taken for a ride again. Specially with the sheffield star.

Burn it in backyard.
-
Cutting is normal now we live in the times and are part of the cut it generation that has to do with less.
No need to panic it's the way it is.
-
Chekhov I have a question. How well do you know the sheffield star and its behaviour?
They claim to be a paper representing sheffield but do the weirdest things to keep sales going.
Just calm down and check them out a bit before getting worried.
Sheffield star can twist and blow out of proportions or announce little ideas as if it is happening tomorrow.

Dont forget to mention they want it quickly, "and on the cheap".
This is a clear sign someone is dreaming and fantasising again most likely high on someting thinking the impossible is possible.
I would suggest a psychological assessment by professional psychologist first before any such plans are allowed to be put on the table. Just to prove that they are capable of putting realistic ideas on table and are not acting out of emotional fantasies.
