  1. Are you enlightened and all knowing? Seriously doubt it and am rather certain this knowing revered to as "just knows" comes out of the blindness and incapacity to see truth or reality when the undeveloped consciousness of the soul makes serious important decisions again. Without any knowledge at all or true insight based on real knowing through proper investigation.
  2. How do you know? Have you scientifically researched this? If you just live in one city you are not capable of knowing or seeing what other cities are really like. It looks like you are just some uneducated idiot who puts his thumb up.
  3. I wondered that as well. Assume that since the water pipe was fixed in one day. The gas taken a lot longer and covers a large area with thousands of houses. The gas company may knock on water company door with the bill later? Maybe they are owned by same person or owners are close friends who will fiddle with the cost. At the moment I have heard on television and radio news several times that home owner insurances are going to pay for this. In other words you and I will pay.
  4. It has been announced now that the people involved will get double the standard compensation for what has happened.
  5. It costs a lot more to heat the house. You may get warmed up by some childish decoration of female genitals. But when it gets really cold and there is no money to pay for gas or electricity you will not be thinking about vajazzles. And they are not even that expensive, put that money in a PAYGO meter and it be gone almost instantly.
  6. If any of that water is still left in these gas-pipes, that will be frozen now and difficult to remove. Unless they use some defrost chemicals, but it does seem to be more difficult to get that right. Any house with water in gas network will need to be properly heated and defrosted before the gasnetwork can be properly cleared. Mind you it would be cool if the gas meter freezes stuck because of ice but still lets gas though.
  7. It was all on calendar and the national news again saying it will still take several days to get everyone connected again. There was one woman who had a single electric cooker there. I usually use two or three pot/pan while cooking, can't do much with just one and a microwave.
  8. Fair enough. Does anyone here have any experience with these keep warm places? We keep heating on now and are lucky enough to have dinner tonight.
  9. Now it is getting even colder this year it is said that many people have to look for alternative options to stay warm. This because of recent gas/elec cost increase of hundreds of percent. Now there are public places in Sheffield to stay warm when it gets cold I noticed there seem to be less bushoppers than usual around this year. We have switched on the heating but even then it stays cold with current temperatures of near freezing. Eating or heating must be one of the most stupid sayings invented by tories to tell people to live in the freezing cold. Because if you don't eat you will die sooner than living in the cold.
  10. It looked like an air pressure issue, as soon as the portable compressor was connected the pantograph went back up smoothly. What about the doors are they air pressure too? I don't know but they appeared to have to fiddle with them as well. Lots of tram related issues and delays lately although last weeks yellow route only going to arena all day was because of the police investigation after a serious injured person was found by the rails near centertainment.
  11. On itv Calender tonight the question is asked if home insurance will pay these homeowners? And if their insurance will go up from it. Unbelievable this should be Yorkshire water responsibility.
  12. Good thought. See different conductors on tram all the time. That tram at fitzalan Square sorted now. A team of engineers came and tried to put the electrical connector up manually but that did not work. Then they connected some type of combustion motor compressor to get it up again.
  13. Trams stuck at fitzalan Square. Five trams in a row. First one electrical connector stopped working and can't get anywhere now.
  14. She means they could help out clear the pipes domestically and help engineers like assistants. She may have a point this this a big major problem that puts people without gas more than a week on coldest December days. Lucky this did not happen Christmas eve. Were told immediately army will drive ambulance when drivers strike, an engineer could easily assist gas engineers increasing their speed at every house that needs gas ASAP again.
  15. Engineers have been brought from around the nation and have been working around the clock. Water was squirting out of gasmeters, hobs, from boilers, gasfires. I do assume all these gasmeters will need replacing, all pipes cleaned of every drop water. All these appliances cleaned and tested. Every house then pressuretested for safety. Only gas safe registered people are allowed to do this in UK, not much the army can do here other than hand out the electric heaters and hobs.
  16. I think local footbal will become a streaming online issue one way or another.
  17. For days now people in Sheffield stannington, malin bridge and hilsborough are without gas water and even an overloaded electricity network about to give up. Sheffield council has finally declared this a major incident. Why it took them this long I don't know because thinking this is enormous, and major incident was first thing I thought when hearing about all that water flushing out of gas appliances last weekend. A water pipe had burst, and this water came into the gas network and squirted out of gas appliances. Yesterday they said that it will be sorted by friday but I do not believe this because it takes little water to block a gas pipe and every house all appliances need disconnecting cleaned and checked as well. Then a gas pipe pressure safety test is needed in that every house again. This is going to take a long time even if all Sheffield's gas engineers would help out with it nonstop.
  18. Exactly as you mention it, government installs it and pays a large section of the investment. Driving around there you see loads more panels than here. Also all new houses in Netherlands several years now not allowed to use gas anymore and produce half its own elec solar. That happened long before gas price boom.
  19. And with the high price for fuel give every car owner a free bicycle. But for a national drive for solar energy Germany is far ahead from UK.
  20. No worries, the main issue was that the old building there was to be made available for music and cultural events. I did not start about the buses and would not even have mentioned them if three others had already started this! It will be interesting to see what group of people will dominate its use when finished.
  21. Yes you are right. After all many people either cannot or are too lazy and do not know how to calculate something simple. It is easier to be facetious than to admit you are not educated. A black taxi is 5 yards long and they want a bus to take them within 2 yards of the main entrance.
  22. Go have a look at haymarket/waingate. On the drawing is a tram.
  23. I don't really care. Travelling through terrorist warzone countries like USSR may take 3 days. Reading your earlier posts saying a little journey from manchester to sheffield that needs to be reliable will be a potential unwelcome hassle clearly shows you do not seem to be concerned with the real dangers and hassles of getting out of a place like USSR! You would walk singing laughing and dancing from manchester to sheffield in the cold if you had to if she would make it to the airport. If your wife really had to face the struggle of leaving USSR or someplace like that you would have start crying and ignored my comments and not childishly try to fight back with weak and weaker comments that still do not ad up! Your posts do not display any emotion of a husband whose loving wife is about to make an unbelievable dangerous journey out of a country in war. They look more like someone whos ego has been hurt by a comment. And my comments are not even serious, I only said that 3 days travel time seemed rather weird, unusual extreme for most ordinary travel even when coming from far east. Really hope she has a good journey and next time you just display and say the truth. Good luck and all the best. Why do I respond to this? I had the impression here someone was just trying to make others feel sorry for him. By lazily saying three days travel so we would feel sorry for him. Lazily believing everything others say you fall in the trap of emotional manipulations. Having travelled globally and experienced long journeys, through third world countries running the streets looking for someone who wants to be my taxi and bouncing around in overloaded buses and trains, boats. Even then it never took more than 48 hours when international airlines were involved. Did you know I have only 5 more days to live because of some illness? Ha now I do feel better because others will feel sorry for me.
  24. Yes I'm his ghost. Just take a taxi call my name and I'll be there.
  25. I'm reading too much fake news and made up fantasy stories on Internet lately. An untrained taxi driver would come closer to the truth Having personal experience of 48 hour non stop journey travelling from USA to far east this discussion touches personal memories and leaves me with little respect towards people whining and then covering every lie with another one.
