  1. A car was being chased in the Burngreave area not more than 5 minutes ago; my husband was driving home through there and had to swerve very quickly to get out of their way. Not sure if it is related or not but yes, so many police cars/ambulance drove past on Barnsley Road.
  2. I am with a female instructor at Bill Plant. She is fantastic. I'm almost done and will hopefully be ready for my test soon
  3. I think muslims are shown in the media in such a negative way that no matter what, it will still be negative. Either that or it won't even be shown in the media. I don't like to say it, but it is true. It is not often muslims are shown in a good way. ---------- Post added 14-09-2014 at 13:33 ---------- I don't think they feel that all muslims think the same way as them. In my opinion, the best way for us is to at least try and keep the peace where we can.
  4. Sometimes people are led astray, not just in religion, but in life. But we have to be able to control ourselves. We have to be strong in our faith, in our belief. General life lessons teach us to be good to others. Those who are not, who like to kill, who like to commit awful acts (such as the rotherham case) have been led astray, we believe.
  5. Ricicle, I'm sorry, are you saying that we have to hold a demonstration to prove to the non muslim world that we muslims are against this? There is no need to prove anything to anyone. We don't need to 'show' anyone anything. Fair enough, a lot of people think that muslims are all terrorists, but us holding a demonstration is not going to change the reality of the situation. In that way, shouldn't every religion hold a demonstration too? Against every organisation they don't agree with? To 'show' everyone that they are against them?
  6. ---------- Post added 14-09-2014 at 13:08 ---------- [/color] I honestly think the reason why muslims don't say much is because quite honestly they feel like their voice won't be heard because the media has hyped up their own version of Islam in such a negative way. I mean who wants to hear that muslims are just normal, happy humans?? Live with a practising muslim for one day and you automatically see that we are just normal people who work hard, live our life and who have no need to enforce our religion on anyone. How can anyone expect someone to love a religion which encourages killing? But that is unfortunately how Islam is being depicted. It makes me very sad. But for me and many others, we want to prove them wrong. As a muslim, the way I live shows the world what a muslim is. For me that is a big responsibility and makes me want to be a good muslim. To tell the truth, to be kind to others, to always smile, to never make fun of anyone, to make others feel happy. It sounds very simple and it is. I just wish everyone else felt the same.
  7. No muslim in their right mind, would agree with the situation right now. I'm a muslim and have enough knowledge of Islam to be able to say that we strictly disagree with the murders that have been taking place. This is not self defence. The people that are being beheaded did not go to war there or try to kill muslims so this cannot be self defence. Every muslim I know has the same viewpoint. It is very very difficult for us because muslims are constantly being called barbaric, evil etc. But the majority of muslims, just like (I assume) the majority of christians, jewish and people of other religions, only want to live in peace. We just want to be happy, living our own lives without hurting anyone. No one should be forcing anyone into anything. Our Prophet, may peace be upon him, never targeted people like this, never encouraged this sort of hatred. He was incredibly peace loving and regardless of having stones thrown at him, garbage thrown at him, he didn't retaliate negatively. Like I said, every muslim I know feels this way too. Just because there are a few who have decided to distort the image of Islam, does not in any way or form mean that this madness is what muslims believe.
  8. Having been brought up in london and lived the first 20 years of my life there, I realised just how much of a difference there is. I would never move back there. Here the people are so friendly, there is fresh air, the Peak district is a short drive away and it has a much calmer atmosphere. I like almost everything about Sheffield.
  9. Thank you so much for your prompt reply! I have joined the mailing list for SYHEC. I was surprised at how many people actually educate their children at home. It gives me peace of mind that I am not doing anything wrong, no matter what people say. I have found that my daughter loves drawing which I really want to encourage her with. Other than that, I do want her to get the basic, reading, writing and general maths done on a regular basis. I seem to be stuck for ideas sometimes but I think nowadays the internet is pretty good for that!
  10. I took my daughter out of school before the school year started and have been using a structured timetable to teach her. Usually from 9-12 is her study time. She is only (almost) 6 and I'm stuck for ideas on how to make things more fun for her. So far she is loving it but I want her to continue enjoying it. If anyone could give me ideas I would be really grateful!

They are very friendly with each other although they are not hand tamed- but that shouldn't be too difficult for someone knowing what they are doing. The male budgie is blue, black and white. The female is yellow, green and black. They are always singing and are happy. They will come with a cage which cost £16, some toys that they like playing with, some millet (which they love to eat), seeds, cuttle fish which is good for them too. The cage has a removable tray at the bottom to clean and there are two containers that hang at the bottom where they have their seeds and water from. They have been well cared for and have never had any health issues. Photo's of them and the cage can be emailed if you are interested. £30.
