Has any one come across the preacher on the bus?

Easier to beleive! -
reclame could be misspellt reklame , ie adverts... ikke hentet means 'not picked up'. In norway you can stop unsolicited advertisements by post and phone, like here, so it could have been misinterpreted as a spam mailing?

Fraid so!

Farting. Is it really that serious? Share your stories!

Find me a link, i'd love to read! Aside from that, read here: http://www.darwinawards.com/legends/legends1998-12.html -

This is an urban legend, methane is non toxic (although obviously if you were breathing only methane you'ld die of asphyxiation). I think it's on darwin awards as well. -
i've come across this before, tricky to diagnose in a modern car - usually due to a failed sensor. Best off taking it to a garage where they can plug it into their computers and find out which is at fault. Has it been doing it much? Even after refuelling? (some cars don't like supermarket petrol 'apparently')

Rant About Wilkinson Street (S10 or S3?)
Grim replied to Hook's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
well, some sites have areas where you can write specific instructions, or just write your road name as 'wilkinson st(inside ring rd)' -
Would that be your spitfire?

What i'd do is pop down to maplins and buy a cheap multimeter (£10), and measure the voltage, with the engine off. Below 12v, it's getting knackered. Then start the engine, give it a slight rev, and it should read 14v+. If it doesn't, the charging circuit is knackered (unlikely in your case, but possible for others reading). If i drive my car short journeys with lights / heater on, i use more electricity than i generate, so after a few days my battery gets a bit low, even though both it and my charging circuit are fine.

Unless your car is a high performance one, i think a standard 10w40 semi synthetic would be normal. See http://www.halfords.com/600.asp

Or perhaps that chavs ought to be kept out of trouble. Stop trolling.

squirrels are apparently a bugger to kill with an air gun, better off with a trap of some sort.

It depends what type opf headlight ocveres you are referring to, there are clear glass protecting ones, which are fine, and there are, what i call 'eyebrows' on the headlights, which should be ok if they don't block the beam pattern. I don't know of any that are illegal as such. My favourites are rear spoilers on front wheel drive cars (so, you want to increase drag and take load off your front wheels which provide drive and stop you... hmmm, ok!), and low profile tyres (contary to the common myth, they reduce cornering ability, although they do improve feel). The spinny wheeltrims look hideous, of course!

Spot on I'd add the oxide film very thin, and is quite adherant due to an increase in volume of the metal to metal oxide causing a compressive stress in the oxide film. The oxide that forms on normal steels is slightly lower in volume, causing tensile stress, and therefore craacks form, allowing further corrosion. (the oxides are strong in compression, but not in tension). I've probably gone somewhat ott on the explanation there

to be anal (i have a masters degree in materials engineering), all steels contain carbon, that is their definition... iron + carbon (+other elements usually) = steel! Steels with high carbon tend to corrode much slower than low carbon steels, which might be a more useful answer

even more confusing when you think that colour is only the minds interpretation of certian frequancies of light - the colour as such does not exist! Also, combinations of different wavelengths of light can look the same as a single wavelength of light. (for your info, i currently work for the university on a project involving a knowledge of this!)

Passport Application Check and Send Post Offices

As far as i read, it's for your supporting documents, such as your birth certificate, and if you're born 1983 or later, mother's birth certificate, or father's and parent's marrage certificate. -
Help I've just dicovered woodworm in the cellar
Grim replied to silverfish's topic in General Discussions
remember it's only an issue if you can see bits of wood shavings coming out of the holes, otherwise the woodworm is most likely dead, and not a problem. -

Well, i couldn't think of a better description for them I might add the van is only occasionally there. Are you involved with the WRG then?
-
i have, i think my brother went of one of their 'missions' to repair / renovate some locks. Plus there's a red WRG van that's parked near me on my walk into town

Lads- Has a woman/Girl ever told you that you are too nice?
Grim replied to a topic in General Discussions
I'd prefer the honest truth. If i had specific flaws (and no doubt i do), i'd like to have the chance to correct them. Not in terms of saving a relationship, but in terms of not making the same mistake twice. In my experiance, few women expect to be treated with respect by men that are interested in them. I can only assume when they're treated with respect, they assume you're not particularly interested / they lose interest. Am i hitting the spot or ******* in the wind here?
