  5. i think that its just the wedding party i.e both sets of parents, best man, groom etc. Thats what i'm doing anyway!
  6. we haven't written a poem, we've just put in small letters on opposite side of card Your presence is enough on this day, but should you wish to honour us with a gift, we would like money to put towards a deposit on our first house, or STA travel vouchers for a honeymoon xxx
  7. hi fluffystuff thanks, yes I am planning to get them from the flower market. Would you advise this? Im hoping that they are quite cheap, im mainly going for white and red roses. I dont drive so its not all that easy for me to go down and do a trial run. Was just going to go down three days before
  8. is anyone else planning to do their own flowers for their wedding? I am, and so far i've sorted out where to buy them wholesale from, but does anyone have any ideas/tips about how to do the flower arranging?? Im hoping it to be quite easy, but i suspect i'll probably be wrong there, and end up panicking two days before the wedding with a kitchen full of flowers that I cant do anything with!
  9. has anyone ever used one of these? More specifically, one that you can buy from tescos or woolies for example. I.e not a professional one. I really want to use one, but not sure how practical a home appliance one is in comparison to the ones you can hire. Also I dont want to spend a fortune. The home ones are really reasonably priced, but im nervous about them being hard work or messy if there is no one to supervise. Alternatively if anyone has used a professional one, how much do they cost? Thanks
  10. I want some new perfume for my wedding day, something that I've not used before that will always remind me of the wedding day everyday I smell it. So I think we are going to buy each other perfume/aftershave...not that he knows that yet
  11. hey jimmy, im putting love hearts in mine. You can actually get little rolls of them with just married written on the wrapper!
  12. It is actually an old tradition that the bridesmaids paid for their own dresses, however most brides if they can afford it pay for them. My bridesmaids have offered to pay for their own dresses basically because I cant afford it!!
  13. I am doing all of the flowers for my wedding (eeek) by getting them from a wholesaler and just givin' it a go! There is a flower market in sheffield by the parkway. I have not been before, but I started a thread a little while ago on it and everyone was very helpful. Try searching for Sheffield Flower Market. One of the main things people said is that you have to get there at the crack of dawn!!
