Challenge Smeekley Fun Ride is holding their event at the Barlow Kennles on Sunday 27th September from 9.30 am ... protestors aim to be there from 9am  for a peaceful protest against “illegal fox hunting” which we know Barlow love to do.  (Google ‘Fox killed by Barlow Hunt December 17th 2019)

Everyone is welcome to join us and show support for those battling against illegal hunting ....  please bring your own water/drinks/food and hand sanitiser ... remember to keep in group of however many we will be allowed in on Sunday - it seems to change every flippin day.

This will be a light hearted demo, but will show them that despite recent vandalism on a sab’s car a few days ago (No, we can’t prove it was them, but smoke and fire etc) , we will never give in.  We WILL be watching them and we will pick them up on every illegal thing they do.

We are now armed with a variety of cameras and doojameflops and are set for the coming season.

Hi everyone ... NEW TIME for tomorrow ... we will be demonstrating on the roundabout at Owler Bar .... we decided that as there will be children at this Fund Raiser for the Barlow, as much as a demo outside the kennels would seem bold, we really didn’t want any children to get upset if things turned nasty.

Therefore a unanimous decision by the LABH  was decided to keep the demo a little away from there but we are also hoping it is in a spot that could possibly get more attention from the public.

If you pass us, give us a toot ... if you want to, come join us!

    Sunday 27th September  11 until 1pm

Those words again . . .Tradition & Heritage . . we used to burn witches at the stake and enslave Africans; doesn't mean it was a good idea THEN or a good idea now.

All the best with your support of the LABH 😘

    Many thanks x. :)

Ahh and they were causing hassle on the B6051 at Owler Bar this afternoon ... stopping traffic.

I ask - if you ever come across this, could you please, please, let the police know - we’re not going to get anywhere with stopping them ‘trail hunting’ (pfft) but we can cause problems if they are causing a nuisance on the roads.

    Thank you ... x

There are many references and articles on line about both the breeding of pups, the selection of those suitable and the dispatching of those which are not.

Plus of course the “retirement” of older dogs which  are past their prime.

Not good reading for animal lovers however you read it.

Hmmm, yes I agree.  I actually wrote to my MP about ‘Illegal Hunting’ and she had the audacity to say that ‘well, some people would call it tradition’ ...

Whatever, I shall continue to help fund the @LABH (Twitter) Locals against the Barlow Hunt (on Facebook), and provide them with a cuppa should they need it.

  5. Yup,  on course .. the Barlow will be exercising their Hounds on Saturday from 2pm (Kennels at Barlow) ... of course we all know that exercising means bringing in the the new hounds to see if they make the grade.  Not sure what they do  if they don’t - would be interested to know) ...

Am sure it’s nothing to do with ‘cubbing’ that goes on at this time of year ... am sure it’s just exercise.

Just had a letter my pip ends in may so i have applied again as i have aspbergers and a umbilical hernia the size of a football making it difficult for me to walk far hope its not like last time when i had to appeal and take the dwp to court

Woah!  Why hasn’t your hernia been operated on?  That’s appalling.

  7. Ah, they’re already out and about ‘exercising the hounds’ Hunt speak for ‘cubbing’

https://animaljusticeproject.com/2016/08/30/fox-hunting/ - in fact they were out on Wednesday 26th August and their pa MP Lee Rowley joined them for a well deserved can of pop and beefburger, before mentioning that he would be talking to Senior Police Officials to see what can be done with the Riff Raff that come and protest. (Because we’re supposed to doff our cap’s to the big Mesters)

Am sorry to hear about your neighbour.  My sister has hens ... she also had badgers (2 of) ... and 3 foxes, that visit nightly.    She locks her hens up securely - as I’m sure your neighbour does ... but do you really think that chasing a fox with hounds and guffawing idiots on horses, is the same as a clean shoot from a farmer?

I have absolutely nothing against a farmer with a shotgun ... but I do with people thinking this is a fun sport.

Hahah, no, certainly not, but unfortunately that’s nature ... as I said previously,  I’m sure you and your neighbour would agree, the chasing of  a fox unti it was exhausted and Then letting hounds tear apart, is quite frankly, barbaric as it is human beings not animals (though I’m a little iffy on that point) who lead the hunt.

  10. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.  Has anyone else on the forum been diagnosed with this?

I had a crush injury to my right hand back in October 2017 and since then my hand has been in agony; as though it has just been crushed.  It changes colours, swells up, turns icy cold, beads with sweat ... it’s definitely my party piece.  Would be quite amusing if it didn’t hurt so much.

At the moment it isn’t too bad ...the pain is there constantly and feels like someone is jabbing hot needles into my bone  - but when I get a flare up it is many times worse.

Just wondered if anyone else has this?  What treatments have you tried for it?

Thank you ..and hello again ...

    Hahaha!  X.

Have to say, I was only laughing at your comment, NOT the article.

Well aware of this, as I live very near where the fox was ripped to shreds - the video does not make pleasant viewing, especially as you see the fox close up.

The Barlow Hunt are having their ‘ball’ on Saturday 25th January at The Casa Hotel in Chesterfield ... if anyone wishes to join, I am sure the Barlow Sabs will appreciate you coming along and laughing at them from 6pm.

Barlow residents who are against the hunt have a facebook group ask about alpaca on there

    Indeed - I am a member x

  12. Wow. This has been covered up.at the time, the man whose alpaca it was, was on TV UpNorth.  It all went quiet and I can only imagine the man was paid off.

Barlow  Hunt ran after and killed a fox on December 17th 2019 ... they say they use scent trails, but why would you need terrier men if you were only following a scent?

  13. My thanks to all that replied. I really do appreciate it.

I’ve been using my I Phone this last year and whilst I’ve taken some pretty good photo’s with it, the zoom is useless.

As I spent a lot of time in my house at present, I’m quite keen to catch this little wagtail that keeps coming to see me every day.

I’m not a serious photographer, but I am good at composition and just want something with a zoom to get that little closer.

I was looking at the following ...

Psst. I agree ... all my previous cameras have been kept immaculate.
