  1. Well I'd be concerned if it was it was a relative or friend, unlikely but still not a nice thought.
  2. Well, what what would be going through your head if there was an accident near your home? It's now re-open according to the link above.
  3. There's no need to be so rude. The junction it sounded like you were referring to is pretty much outside my house, so understandably I was quite alarmed.
  4. Well unless I'm imagining things, there isn't any queuing on the Hagg Lane side of the A57.
  5. The one that meets the A57 is the top of Hagg Lane. I've just been to have a look after seeing this and can't see anything, and there's no tail backs. Can you be a bit more precise?
  6. If it's part of the shopping centre (I don't know, never been there) then it would have to close no matter how small it is. However, even if it is small enough and stand alone I very much doubt it would have opened. I would put money on that being a porky.
  7. I should clarify I'm not actually irate, I'm just genuinely baffled.
  8. This evening. I don't know why it was open really, whether it was open or not doesn't really explain the mentality of a grown adult throwing a lit fag at a moving vehicle.
  9. I'd just like to ask the woman who was stood outside the Nottingham in Broomhill at around 8.30 having a smoke, 40s, blonde hair, who turned around and saw the bus going past and very deliberately threw her lit fag at the bus, narrowly missing the open window and landing inside - errm, why??? What the hell was that about?
  10. Except they aren't doing doing any work anywhere near watt lane, and that road has been having problems with lights for years.
  11. Yes, it's closed both ways from Hagg Lane to Lodge Lane until 2 December.
  12. Woke me up in Crosspool, seemed to be coming from some distance. Brilliant time to do it
  13. I've been sworn by one worker this morning for daring to drive on my own road. Without any warning it is closed despite all the signs saying it will be closed Saturday 28/Sunday 29 and no mention of Thursday 26. So basically were all stuck and its somehow our fault.
  14. I'd noticed the name change as well. It definitely is a farce, every lamp post on my street has a sign on it notifying of resurfacing all day on 16th. This is already three weeks late. Have they been, of course they haven't.
  15. Its a fairly long stretch so will probably takes at least 12 hours, which is why I have posted, sorry muttered. As for doing other roads in the immediate area, they should have been done.
  16. Our road is to be closed today from 7am-7pm for resurfacing. Most residents went to the trouble of leaving their car on another road overnight or leaving earlier. Have they come? Have they heck!
  17. What a surprise. They're atrocious at keeping to schedule.
  18. There's some friendly people on here isn't there?
  19. I go past the sewage works twice a day on the rail line. Even with the windows shut the smell makes me want to throw up straight away. I've come across some bad smells in my time, but that is just pure ****e.
  20. I went up to Fulwood Lane earlier. I could see something tall way in the distance right above the transmitter at Crosspool. It was very faint and too hazy to see clearly at that distance, but checking Google Earth suggests it could well have been the Humber bridge. Don't know if anyone has seen that before up there. As mentioned, the best time for long distance viewing is a sunny, frosty day in December. The landscape far away always seems to be lit up better when the sun is low.
  21. SCC have updated the schedule for my area again. The street lights will be completed November to January, six months late and pavement resurfacing can't be done until after the lights are installed. Complete joke. When I get minute I will try to ask for an explanation, probably not going to get anywhere though, but I cannot understand why there's a delay when the work seems to be going well in the areas supposed to be done afterwards. Highfield and Parson Cross all have new street lights and work there wasn't supposed to start until September.
