Mill house animal sanctuary dog destroyed
Jesse garron replied to Jesse garron's topic in Sheffield Pet Owners
It seems that most people who have expressed a comment on here are of the opinion Samson was not a pit bull and having watched his behavior around other dogs I am very certain he was not. Samson was left abandoned tied to a lamp post over a year ago on Granville road and ended his short life at the animal sanctuary with no dignity . Perhaps Samson was abandoned because he was to soft and would lick someone to death rather than eat them ! I have complained to the police asking what their reasoning was for destroying an innocent dog , perhaps a few more complaints might make the police officer who has been heavy handed think twice or even better go on a training course so she knows how to spot a pit bull !! -

The police arrived on news year with a warrant and the rescue center where given three choices either the police put the dog down immediately, you have your own vet come , you argue that he is not a pit bull and call someone in but if he turns out to be a pit bull then you will be fined for having a dangerous . A charity that is struggling to care and pay for Sheffields unwanted pets can not run to this sort of expense and they have been under enough stress recently because of a complaint of a single neighbor. I only wish they had taken the third option because Samson was not a pit bull nor had he attacked anyone , he was castrated and muzzled when exercised as a precaution knowing that most dogs particularly males are intimated on the lead which can lead to aggression. Surely the people of Sheffield would have helped financially with his battle , now its to late but someone has a lot of answering to do , this is disgraceful . I can only imagine how frightened he must have been when the vet came poor boy RIP -
Today I went to walk a lovely dog called Samson as I have done many times only to be told that the dog had been destroyed , by order of the police because they thought he was a pit bull . No questioned asked just destroyed , this dog was very loving and affectionate and was certainly not a pit bull , just a big powerful boy wanting a loving home . This is a disgrace and a terrible waste of a life just over two years of age . How can this have happened ? Look on their website under dogs to be re -homed does he look a pit bull , try Great Dane cross mastiff !! http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/images/smilies/mad.gif

Perhaps if you could manage to take it to a vets they could scan the cat to see if it is micro chipped . Well done for trying to help http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/images/smilies/frown.gif -
