You need to take advice from a building surveyor/engineer and engage an architect to draw up plans to submit a planning application first of all. Regulations are very stringent and require an integrated fire alarm system throughout the property and fire doors on all rooms (not just in the loft conversion). It can be done but it's not a cheap or simple undertaking, good luck!

Just driven up Woodseats for the first time in ages and see Venture Studio has closed. Not seen anything on here about it, when did it go? Not too surprised, they were well overpriced.

I think you all need to pay more attention, Nick has been here many times during the past couple of years, has held two public question and answer sessions, one in Ecclesall and on in Totley and made several visits in support of the campaign to save Totley library. He is no stranger to his constituency here in Sheffield but his visits are often at short notice for security reasons.

I remember seeing The Drumbeats at Hillsbro' Memo Hall in early 60's, I used to stand and watch the lead guitarist who I think called himself "Jet", he had blonde hair combed straight forward and played a white or blue Strat. I bought a white Strat and Vox AC30 super twin in '66 so he must have had a profound effect on me! Those WERE the days.

A word of warning: the lights from USA will most likely be 110 volt working not 240 volts which we use in UK so you need a transformer plug to transform the 240 volts down to 110 volts, not simply an adapter which will take the USA type 2 pin plug. That's why the one you've bought (thankfully) doesn't fit. Do not attempt to connect the lights to the 240 volt mains in this country, they will overheat and could catch fire. Places like Maplin Electronics used to sell a 240v to 110v transformer plug, not sure if they still do, but they were quite expensive.
