  1. Fair point, be interesting to see how the new people work it, twas once very good indeed...
  2. Depends what you can afford... rich Totley/Dore/ or anywhere near the Uni/hospitals like Crookes. Check the recent BBC article about high performing secondary schools and you'll find other areas like Norton/Norton Lees are on the up because the local school is much improved ie Newfield in fact that list is as good an indicator as you'll get Link here
  3. Recall the first one it wasn't 20 years more like 5-10 from memory but don't recall the other one.
  4. Yup, just been, if you liked it before you will like it now and they are taking cards again. Davido there as ever, the place has been done up and great food/good value.
  5. Well here is one http://www.lovemytown.co.uk/Populations/TownsTable1.asp getting a bit techincal here
  6. Interesting, I wonder if they get measured in different ways? I've come across the 1-4 in England (admittedly a few years ago) as London, Brum, Liverpool, Sheffield then Leeds. As you say the thing is Manchester is far bigger but made up of so many small Mets, including Salford right in the central area.
  7. When I last looked Liverpool was the third biggest after London and Birmingham, has it shrunk?
  8. Yes we are well blessed with them around here both North Yorks and Derbyshire are easily within range http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ try there and you will find loads of places and useful reviews by people who have been. There are some good sites Matlock way, I'm thinking you are talking tents here wheras I use a van but the UK campsite site finder caters for both and lets you know which are quiet or adult only. HTH Oh and meant to say book asap, camping has taken off with the whole staycation thing grrr!
  9. I'm a keen camper and I'm afraid what you are asking is just about impossible, I don't know of any campsite that will let you light a fire! And playing music well yes but not late at night and certainly not around a camp fire! Sites are organised and efficient businesses these days and yes regulated too so while you will find fairly peaceful ones and many adult only sites you won't get the other bits. Wild camping isn't encouraged anymore and in many places is illegal, you might just find a field in Derbyshire with a farmer okay about you camping there, but you are talking no facilities and yup we are in the does a bear sh*t in the woods area here! Best of luck but I think you may have to compromise some more!
  10. Great must give it a try again, but notice they don't take cards now
  11. Yup I've been a few times now and it's good and good value
  12. Do you mean L'incontro? I've heard that is good.
  13. So Healey wasn't scenic enough ehh? If you or anybody else knows where the new place is please post it as it was a good Italian and he was a nice guy, I'd like to try his new place...
  14. Does anybody know why? Has he gone elsewhere, back to Italy (can't think why!) or saw the credit crunch comin?
  15. Leeds & Liverpool at the very bottom, they so deserve each other Result for Sheffield though!
  16. Like a hot BBQ type sauce with a good after kick if you taste it straight out of the bottle! Baked some pork chops in it last night and it was very tasty, much less of a kick as a cooking sauce. Would be great for any grills or BBQ's, yes you could add it to a bolognese, or stew etc
  17. Just got some from Archer Road, it looks good but I'm going to try it on the Outlaws first, just to be on the safe side
  18. Well that's alright then Seriously it's really helpful hearing what you have to say but that does sound a bit funny. I wonder even more then why they didn't just narrow it so only cars could get through (much like it is now) and ban heavy loads until it's fixed.
