  1. Is anyone interested in exchanging houses ? i have a larger than average three bedroom terrace 60's build , the bedrooms all take double beds easily, the kitchen and bathroom are to be replaced in June ,it already has double glazing, there is a smallish court yard garden big enough for my daughters swing and play house and a brick out house. the area is very quiet oap populated , i have decorated everywhere in neutral tones, this is a very light bright house due to its large picture windows. I am willing to have a look at most areas, but sorry no maisonettes.
  2. anything to stop your kids going to Newfield, i had to move my 2 daughers from that school because they were bullied beyond belief just because they are Goths and not chavs! i ended up sending them down to Abbeydale Grange and they have never looked back, my son had 5 brilliant years there as well.
  3. i've been bidding for 12 months now and have 6 years on the list i am bidding for 3 bed properties, and have had 3 multi viewings but still was pipped at the post, the trouble i find is that most houses are priority, which i don't have, so still no luck, i think i need a couple more years waiting time yet in order to obtain a house
  4. I had a drive round on Saturday and i saw some lads with an off road bike taking it inside a house, ! i also saw a large group of older teens to twenty somethings hanging outside the maisonettes on Lupton Drive, i have to say , i am going off the area, it all looks nice till you start looking that bit closer, the reason i wanted a move up to Lowedges was because my ex partner lives on Lupton road and it seemed practical for me to be closer so he can have our daugher , while i'm at work, i must say i'm having second thoughts now ! i must thank everyone who have taken the time to reply , it's been a real help very informative and much appreciated.
  5. don't know of any problems for Beauchief, Netheredge has had it's moments, there was an Asian guy beaten senseless on clarkehouse road not that long back, i think the closer to town you go the more chance of running in to the odd bit of bother, but honestly neither area is rough in the least, i went to school at netheredge and it was fine round there, it's got a number of divided houses i.e student lets , which you certainly dont get at beauchief, if there was any the re nt would be enormous ,lol.
  6. Beauchief for me .i'd say Netheredge is ok close to townfull of nice big old houses but it's so full of trees it always seems on the dark side to me, Beauchief is close to the desirable areas of Dore and Totley and i'd say the more expensive of the two, if i had your choice i'd be looking at Beauchief, hope this helps you.
  7. thanks phantom, i will, i don't want to be out of the frying pan and in to the fire ! while it looks ok driving through maybe i need to get out of the car and take a closer look .
  8. I live at gleadless valley, the lower end nearer heeley , it's really quiet down here so i am hoping for the same at lowedges, i've tried bidding but without much luck as i only have 6 years on the waiting list which are the bits of lowedges which are thought to be the better bits ?
