just as a matter of interest the New Bridge Inn was not called the Bridge Inn but theNew Inn .If you look at the pub now the old name of the pub is outside engraved in the wall.I lost a bet over this ,cost me a couple of pints

One thing I can't understand is the logic of probabilities-the more you drive the more likely you are to be in a crash! So why does the law say that taxi drivers,bus drivers,lorry drivers and certain van drivers do not need to wear seat belts. Myself if I was one of those I would definetly wear a belt,as I would be in a high risk situation !

the building that you can see is Sheffield Uniteds football academy that is on the old football ground on shirecliffe lane.I don't think that the council realised that is was going to be as big as this.On the same subject if you look towards Middlewood from halifax road you can see what a monstrosity the inflatable academy building for Sheffield Wednesday is as well.

a word of caution, if you go to see the sistine chapel , this is 20 minutes walk from st pauls basillica and the queues are horrendous to get in.give yourself at least 3 hours to wander round it ,it is really awe-inspiring.

I go drinking down hillsborough every friday night and have done so for the last ten years.I go in all those horrible pubs that have been mentioned and I can honestly say I have never seen any trouble.Perhaps it's because I always catch a bus at 23.15 and so miss all the potential trouble!there is also believe or not a safe route to go round the pubs if you go ball,shakey, legends, deep end ,masons then finish in the shakey no problems whatsoever. avoid the kebab and pizza places too many people wanting to make a name .Wait while the new college on owlerton is built and then you won't be able to drink down 'the boro' at all!

as the majority of incidents dealt with by firefighters tend to be vehicle crashes rather than fires.doesn't it make more sense to site fire crews nearer motorways than out in the sticks. why don't the fire crews park on the parkway ready for action instead of going to bed wish i could get paid for sleeping!
