  1. Hi I have been a member for just over a year and decided to pay up front as you got an additional month free so I only just renewed membership on 16 March. Gutted about losing the money but feel more sad over the staff who have only just found out they have no job and they are not getting paid. I would not have know if it hadn't been for one of their staff sat in her car outside the Ecclesall road branch just to let members know as they keep arriving. I thought this was lovely of her as she technically now has no job and owes the company no loyalty. It is just she cared and wanted to let members know the situation. Nothing is stated on the door so no one would have known anything otherwise.
  2. Hello everyone Just trying to find other members who are feeling as disgruntled as me about this situation. Understand all the branches have gone down the pan as the company was haemorrhaging money. Anyone know anything further ? Cheers Sue Plus what gym would forum members recommend now I have lost my money with this one ?
  3. Hi Looking at getting one of those extremely large mural type wallpapers which come in four or five blocks / panels. I would like recommendations for a decorator who has previous experience of putting these types of mural paper up many thanks sue
  4. Hi can anyone tell me the nearest place for my 12 year daughter to be able to attend a judo class? I know there is one at grimesthorpe which is too far for us. The hills borough one would have been ok but she goes to guides on Fridays so can't attend that one. Is there any more anywhere that people know of? Many thanks sue
  5. Hi we have viewed a house via them and were very impressed. Saw house on right move rang hatched told them when we could view it. They were back to me really promptly and confirmed to my phone with a text. Rang me two days after viewing for feedback with a follow up a further week later so I was very impressed with their service.
  6. Hi another recommendation for Michael Mitchell brilliant fast decorator who has just finished our hallway. Looks great he is a lovely bloke plus super tidy. Will definitely use him again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I found him on Sheffield forum to start with and all the recommendations are true
  7. Hi we booked flights and jeep hire through dial a flight and then booked direct with villa owners in Orlando at Windsor hills. Ours was multiple destination though as we had a week at Orlando then also went to Miami, Everglades, st petes and fort Myers. Highly recommended and kids loved going to each place. We did the theme parks as well and bought out tickets in UK before going. We spent around £7,500 all in for 17 days which I think is pretty good value. Sure you could do it cheaper by shopping round more but get your flights first then cut down on what u spend on accommodation. We had a fantastic trip
  8. Hi jeff so pleased you are in. We took our house off market but still waiting for sign to come down! I am still mulling over all the things we want to change and the windows really bug me . We will be in touch when we have agreed what we want to do with the place. Enjoy your new home
  9. Hello thinking of having our front windows replaced with upvc. They are brown painted wood at the moment. I do not like brown and want to get white upvc but the problem is we have a large side utility which is brown upvc and we cannot afford to scrap that and replace with white. Is it possible to change it to white to match the windows or do I just have to go with brown? Many thanks for advice tips and quotes sue
  10. Hello We are thinking of putting our home on the market after the Easter holidays and are thinking of using Whitehornes (not had them out as yet but know their fee, etc). Has anyone used them and if so would you recommend? If anyone else is currently selling and is really impressed with their agent please let me know. At this present time I know alot of properties are taking considerable time to sell however if your agent is being proactive and you are on all the right sites then at least the best is being done. Many thanks Sue
  11. Hello everyone I have not been on the forum since posting my message and have just logged on and seen all your replies. Thank you so much it has really cheered me up. We have put a plant in today to mark the spot where we have buried Gizmo and I took some flowers round to my neighbour with a thank you card for just being there and wrapping him in a towel and thinking about me and the kids. I know you cannot bring them back and time will eventually be a great healer. We still have his sister Daisy who only now goes out when I am with her on the back garden. She is quite timid though and got lost a few months after we first got her and since that time she does not really venture off our garden which is a good thing. Thanks again for your nice words they really did help me. Sue
  12. Hello everyone, One of my beloved cats Gizmo a silver tabby who had not even reached his second birthday was run over and killed on Tuesday this week on Derbyshire Lane top end around the bungalows. We have buried him in the garden. Two ladies witnessed the accident around lunchtime on Tuesday - the driver did not stop, the ladies knocked on my neighbours door as it happened outside their bungalow and asked if she knew who the cat belonged to. I dont blame the driver as he may not have even known that he had hit him if he was in one of those big 4x4 cars. I am heartbroken - we still have his sister Daisy and she is moping around without him being here. Our other cat did not like Gizmo so is not bothered. I just was hoping that if any of those ladies read this they would contact me please as I just would like to know that he died instantly. My neighbour did say that when she went out to him he was already dead and she covered him with a towel and put him behind our porch. The kids are really upset but burying him in the garden has been the best idea and they want to plant some flowers where he has been laid to rest. I don't even know really why I am blabbing on and on - it just makes me feel better to get it down on paper - I miss him and loved him so much it doesnt seem fair that he was so young and they drive so fast on Derbyshire Lane! Thank you Sue
  13. Hi we got my daughter a Syrian Hamster last November and I wish we had bought him sooner! He is such a character and my daughter loves him to bits! We did look at the usual pet shops but ended up going to the breeder who I think is called Ann Drayton I found her by googling. I will find her telephone number for you and send it through. She does a few different types of hamsters, breeds and shows them. We rang and went to her home and she had quite a few for us to choose from. They are all well looked after and handled from an early age so they are really friendly. She lives on Twentywell Lane Sheffield 8. Our criteria was that we only wanted one - we didnt want a really tiny superfast thing but something abit more chunky that was friendly. Syrian hamsters can only live on their own and are bigger than the other type of hamsters and our "Hammi" even sits with my daughter watching tv - a real character. Only cost £6 and is so cheap to feed etc. Hope that helps Cheers Sue
  14. Hi I have been reading these posts with interest - we have just had our home valued by two estate agents - Saxton Mee and Staves. We had viewed a few houses through Saxtons and I was really impressed with their staff - very on the ball and rang me for feedback next day on the ones we had viewed and they send new property details through immediately to my email. However they are just so expensive £175 & VAT for brochures upfront charge and then just under 1% & VAT on sale. If they were cheaper I would go with them immediately but just too expensive. I had Staves out as I like the fact that they have a couple of branches so will get the footfall - there are a few people (1 or 2!) who do not have internet and go driving around the areas and then pop into the local estate agents to where they are looking around. At the moment til 31 March they are doing a deal whereby its a total cost of £1200 plus vat on completion no upfront charges whatsoever and if you decide to remove it from the market and decide you are staying put there is a fee of £150 plus vat. The £1200 includes brochures, accompanied viewings, all the advertising on the websites, rightmove etc and an advert in the Property Guide/Telegraph. I thought that was really quite good - know its higher than some online only estate agents but I like the fact that we do not pay anything whatsoever upfront and so it makes them more proactive in trying to sell our property. The company I looked at for online selling was housenetwork and the reviews for them were really good and we were going to put it on with them but there is an upfront payment and to be honest if we do not get a certain sum for our house we would rather stay put than give it away and in that instance I prefer to pay no upfront charge and give it a go at trying to sell if after six months no success than we take it off the market and only pay the £150 & VAT. Cheers Sue
  15. Hi my mum and dad live on Snape Hill Crescent and love it there - nice neighbours, friendly road and near shops, etc. I visit during the week and spend quite a bit of time in Dronfield - would move there in a flash if I could. (Hubby likes Sheffield!) I lived there from age 5 up to leaving when I was around 35. Did live in Sheffield at various times for short periods as well. Lived in various parts of Dronfield - Hallowes near Golf Course, Coal Aston, Dronfield Woodhouse. Enjoyed all areas for various reasons at the time of living there. If I was moving back I would consider anywhere in Dronfield as I just like it so much. For me its like going home everything I drive back there and I dont live that far away - Norton! Cheers Sue
