  3. Makes no difference which party get in this may they all talk the talk but when it comes to it deliver nothing but false promises, there all overpaid corrupt idiots that have no idea how this country works.
  4. in my opinion when i was in my teens around 30 years ago Sheffield was really something to be proud of we had decent Christmas lights and such is through decline we lose more and more each year, the people are not the same nor do we have any care to our neighbours any more but im sure that's not confined to the likes of sheffield it happens everywhere, Sheffield is slowly losing its identity if not totally lost it altogether as the poster above me has said any given successful to come out of here does right to move on and not come back, so in my opinion a **** hole, if i had the means and money id be out of here as well, if only to go to somewhere else maybe just for the views.
  5. Yeah kathy beale aka gillian taylforth was in thursday nights live episode supposubly turning up out of the blue in a london black cab asking phil if she could come home he told her no, but she is to reprise her role as kathy beale later in the year propper
  6. I seriously cant take any notice of the story lines eastenders has to offer, not only do i believe they stretched this current story line out far too long, but in the last 10/15 years or so Dirty Den came back after being supposedly killed now they do the same with kathy, wouldn't surprise me if in another 10 years goes by and lucy turns out not to be dead,
  7. How can you say, The police cuts are not the issue, there was an individual working closely with the police on Friday nights calendar news who actually stated about the current problems with the cuts, Its also common knowledge that police stations have been closed in parts of the uk to make these cuts justifiable and balance the books so to speak and closed stations mean loss of jobs weather it be at the front line or the admin, either way the public are made to suffer at the hands of criminals who know they can get away with it. So stations have been closed or are getting closed and yet government are still wanting cuts, it just is not going to end well for any of us, End of the day thing are not going to get better until the the people in charge /government take off there rose tinted glasses instead of trying to sell off our public services off to the highest bidder.
  8. Maybe lack of policing, which ultimately come down to cuts of which government are making them try to achieve, i was only talking about what this government are doing at the moment in this current term to my parents in the last few days not only with police and the nhs , it seems to be ok in the moment for them but in the long term where is it going to leave the uk in the future, i dont see a bright future, im in my early 40's and to look at the tv recently with the nhs crisis as well as police advisor's saying about there cuts it does not bode well for if and well i would ever need to call upon such services or anyone else for that matter, im sorry if ive derailed the thread but seems a perfect opportunity given what happened with the bus driver incident to say exactly why were going so wrong with policing its a prime example of lack of policing due to cuts.
  9. Im finding nothing fantastic about these new LED lights, they may well be cheaper to run but i very much agree with Strix, its very patchy light and unless your underneath them they serve no purpose, where i live we have them erected on the street and i can honestly say that the street is darker which is a worry (darkness encourages crime), i found that when we had the old orange lights the spread of light was much greater, but if true as what Strix has said its no surprise sheffield city council has always been using cost cutting exercises with no benefit to the public. Now we all know the old street lighting was expensive to run but what happens when crime rises due to insufficient lighting, who then is going to pick up the bill with already overly stretched police/nhs etc.
  10. Well been into sort the machine today but with no success, Seems whatever malware and or virus it has, has destroyed the recovery partition on the hard drive so apart from using my personal copy of windows 7 and using his key from the sticker on the side of his case i dont really know either way if i choose to do it that way ive got to hope and search the internet to see if i can get all the necessary drivers, so for now it looking like he may have to sweat for 2 months till xmas when he will get a new machine unless i can get the drivers.
  11. Ty all, still not got around to sorting it out yet, been too busy so im open to all suggestion at the moment going to certainly try the inbuilt parental software in windows first, also im on purpose saying to him at the moment im gonna do it when i get round to doing it he isnt happy with that as he is wanting everything his own way and for me to drop everything at a min notice but thats the ADHD, but what im hoping to achieve with him is the cruel to be kind approach and trying to learn him that what he has done is wrong before hand and hope that has some impact on his computer behavior as he is getting a new machine this Christmas as is through family fund i just dont want him to wreck another brand new computer, worst case scenario is that he gets it taken away from him till of a more responsable age as he is only 14 but seems to have a mental age of about 8 or 9. thanks anyways guys
  12. Cheers Ghozer, gonna sort that out at the weekend then
  13. Yes ty, altho just looked at tips online about how to use the Parental controls in windows but only seems to me that it can only control what is already on the computer and time management what happens if he downloads something malicious wont that still be able to cause havoc or will the computer stop him from downloading after he clicks the link to say something malware ish.
  14. Hello all, Im after some information regarding software preferably free for blocking websites, my son has ADHD and has a computer of his own in his bedroom this last week he has told me that his internet connection is giving errors in browser something regarding proxy connection could not be established, not quite sure what this means nor anyway of resolving, error is being shown in all of his browsers firefox, ie etc, anyways on to looking at his computer there seems to be alot of files on his desktop that even for me with limited knowledge should not be there some .dll, lots of winrar folders with just garbled text and in his recycle bin some torrent files, and to be fair i was shocked that my son would know anything about torrents and how even to get round aggressive isp blocks, anyways to cut along story short its looking like im going to have to reinstall his computer, but im wanting to know if anyone knows of any software that will/can be password protected and that can have websites blacklisted would also be handy to know what sites he has been visiting before i reinstall it to be able to blacklist said sites, seems that computer has been browser hyjacked and virus ridden. any help much appreciated.
  15. Indeed the house that was used previously is literally 2 mins walk from my parents house on Lowedges Crescent, weather the film crew are going to be using it this time around im not sure, the house was up for sale about a year or two ago and looked to have sold about 6 months back, i live in the same area Lowedges and we had a hand delivered letter from Richard Knight Location manager at Warp Films looking to want to find a flat in the area to film in for one day in October, so its anyone guess i suppose.
  16. Exactly and if there isnt a shop near to your bus stop im sure if you where to take a 5 min walk in either direction you would find one or an atm, seems to me that most of the people in this thread are hell bent on not helping themselves or others. or better still break your notes the night/day before, you and your fellow travellers on the bus will reach your destination sooner.
  17. Vodaphone bought the shops and preserved there staff, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29286694
  18. Talk about throwing his rattle out of the pram, whilst im not scottish i believe very much what someone said live on the bbc last night in the first few hours of scotland decides, if things like policys and currancy and all that good stuff was thought through 3 to 4 years ago instead of at the last minute the vote may well have been a yes, the referendum felt very rushed towards the end.
  19. Sorry but getting change is always possible, This is one of my pet hates, if you know you are going to be travelling by bus how hard is it to makes sure you have change there are always shops, post offices that will quite gladly change your £10/£20 note, and usually bus stops are quite close to shops, There was once a person waiting for the bus got on with a £20 pound note for his fair, bus driver told him he couldnt change it said person refused to leave the bus instead he caused an argument with the driver, short story there was a petrol forecourt by the side of the bus stop, he had every chance to make change but refused to, end of the day i have zero tolerance to such behavior but you always get muppets thinking that there owed something in life
  20. Saw this on the tea time news, Ive been seething with anger since over this, i would personally like to keep up with this news story, it just begs belief that parents should be responsible individuals and that act of letting this 9 year old hold a fire arm thinking its a bit of fun is absolutely ludicrous the poor little girl is gonna have some major problems/issues in life and the poor bloke killed it just isnt funny, my only hope is that the parents should be locked away for that little girls own safety.
  21. Is there any solid evidence that this has happened, its always been know that gunstones had an on off relationship with M&S, if so i couldnt wish it on a better company, whilst i have sympathy for the workforce that was on the sandwich department if they are up for redundancy i do not have sympathy for the company itself as a past employee i/we where treat like the worst kind we where scum so long as the profits were rolling in gunstones where/are not bothered, the amount of abuse on an almost daily basis was horrific i now suffer mental scars on my health because of them.
  22. For anyone living in Lowedges living near the old magpie (now Select and Save) I have a dog who is 13 years old who has recently lost quiet a bit of weight i walk him and feed him and he is always fed well, but myself and my wife are constantly being judged and and given dirty looks for his weight loss, seems not a day goes by where someone has got something to say or a look of disgust, why am i posting this, well im fed up to the back teeth of people in this area thinking they know better, they don't know me nor do they know my wife but still make judgement on our dog myself and my wife, let me say this for the record you of the estate are lucky not to be punched, my dog has been to the vet and unfortunately has cancer as well as kidney implications he may not have long left to be in this world id rather you come to me and ask what was wrong rather than making your own judgement in future i WILL not tolerate bull**** from people of this estate for much longer, Ive come here as a last resort to educate the people of this estate, please think before opening your mouth and ask if in doubt but dont judge and make your own assumptions without knowing the facts.
  23. Unfortunately some humans are not much better, where i live in Sheffield there are many a person who would pee up a wall after a night out, and theirs also the fact that some mothers let there children urinate against walls and in the gutter when they are caught short, both in every case of educated at school earlier in life as children and should know better but still do it, but here we are complaining about dogs doing as the same as we do from time to time, Dog and cats do not have that option, they do not have indoor toilets as we do, but yet still have the need to go just as we do, the animals have rights to even though they cant talk to you. Get a grip for god sake.
  24. well it is and it isnt who is to dictate when it should have happened, you say, (This is a deserved tax that should have been implemented in the first place) just when was it right to implement it at the beginning of time ? The point is that pre 2013 councils were quite happy to give you a property for one person either a bedsit, 1 bed flat, or even a 2 bed flat, then now 2013/2014 thats all wrong and its our fault for moving into a property beyond our needs, the council didn't care pre 2013 just so long as you could afford the rent. so again, just when was it right to implement it
  25. Ok well that's fair to hear that you are not bashing benefit claimants but to be fair there are many that would on this forum and i am always defensive to that and be the first to fight back, as i do try to look for work despite the growing applications per job advertised, as regard to you stating your legislation claims and the fact that it isnt a tax are founded, its actually under occupancy rule/act to the best of my knowledge, but when this act was introduced it was probably the media that gave it the name bedroom tax and that sticks in people minds and often is stuck by when people see rulings for the first time either it be the daily tabloid or the news, therefore i don't think this so called heated discussion that some hold on here will never be any different some will always say its a tax while others wont it all depends on where they heard it first and im sure it will always be that way until either the torys are voted out or back in next year (which i doubt) and labour to rename it if they get back in to something more pleasing to the masses, where again the media will rename it something else. But thats why i say regardless of name tax or reduction of benefit people will always have a name for it based on when and where they heard if first weather it be media or tv .
