K1 kickboxing Thai boxing shows in April
chefkicker replied to Steve70's topic in Sheffield Sport & Activities
Steve70, Your posts never cease to make me chuckle. You tend to speak a lot about topics which you know precious little about. You clearly don't get out much and only seem to follow the movements of a select few clubs and events. Now if you're a beginner or just a parent who doesn't really train then I apologise for coming across as abrupt. You mentioned Showdown saying it never fails to impress. Showdown has collapsed. Once upon a time , Showdown was a huge Muay Thai extravaganza . Showdown no longer have that massive cash injection ( pardon the pun) they used to have, for obvious reasons ( I believe the promoter is in custody? Frankly speaking I don't care what he's done this time but there seems to be a bit of a pattern from those people ) . This smaller version is just an ordinary show in a WMC like any other . Granted all the fighters will fight their hearts out will show some great skill but outside of that the rest of our fight scene probably doesn't actually care . The REAL big event right now is THE ORIGINAL the one and only ,.... AFK SUPER-LEAGUE The last AFK Superleague was so busy the huge venue actually ran out of tired seating blocks !!! All the VIP tables were full as well. Joe Mcgovan's show will surely be exciting . 5 of Joe's lads fought on the last AFK SL event One of them fought in the 4 man tournament as well. The main event was Yousif Ibrahim of AFK ( who I've seen you slag off on here ) vs Joe Hughes from Marsden's 5 rounds of action concluding with a head kick from nowhere !!! The very fact that you fail to notice events like this is what robs your posts of any credibility. Id just like to politely ask you to open your eyes and mind before you speak about kickboxing in future -
The Battle of Yorkshire Fight Results
chefkicker replied to chefkicker's topic in Sheffield Sport & Activities
Thank you for your support Toreador AFK had straight wins on this show , I must admit it's not easy to get results I've had to work very hard with my fighters -
Hi everyone Who here came to the battle of yorkshire at Skate Central Arena? There was a LOT of media hype surrounding the big ISKA Title fight between Marsdens all styles Joe Hughes and AFK's famous Yousif Ibrahim Also a lot of people were interested in the 63.5kg 4 man K-1 tournament featuring up and coming star Brandon Gethin from Joe McGovan's gym and 3 more up and coming young lads. MMA Fights featured AFK's "Pakistani Hercules " Mujjy Ahmed and 2 very good fighters from Stocksbridge's Steel Evolution gym based at Vision health and fitness (near LIDL) Dont forget the girls !!!! Heather Marsden , daughter of Simon Marsden as well as girls from Kapap gym and Pride Martial Arts . Results to follow shortly as to who beat who. Feedback on the fights and the event please? Kind Regards Farhad Ali AFK Kickboxing

I've noticed you seem to gone rather quiet when it comes to kickboxing fights and kickboxing shows , I truly wonder why that is No more digs at the AFK-Superleague anymore is there? Now that we are on the subject how is YOUR show or is it your "mates" show that you used to bang on about? What was it called again? -

Hi Forum readers!!! Some of you might already know that I recently started fighting again. First of all I came back because a friend had a show planned and was thinking of cancelling it. I basically came back to save the event. I came back the once then vanished. Two years later an old training partner fancied a comeback to honour our old instructor and suggested that we bash each other up in his honour(????) I ignored him at first but the prospect of bashing the hell out of my old friend to honour our instructor sounded like too much fun to resist . I nearly KO'd him then he nearly KO'd me and I spent the last round I'm survival mode ( hit and run) We ended up with a draw!!! I wanted to fight a few months after that but someone sabotaged that one. ( my own fault for being public about the opponent) In June I fought an over 35's match and won by TKO Training for this one was a nightmare due to a string of injuries. Due to injuries , I know I'm only 40 but this will be my last fight. Anybody wishing to judge or criticise me , feel free to buy a ticket The event will be Saturday 5th September Skate central on queens road Kick off at 7pm 07775914155

South yorkshire white collar boxing recruiting
chefkicker replied to manorboxing's topic in Sheffield Sport & Activities
White collar boxing seems to have taken over the ABA and left them far behind Good luck with the initiative -
I disagree with " giving martial arts a swerve " Martial arts is for everyone or at least it should be It shouldn't just be for your " hard guys" or your " dave the street fighter" Sport for everyone is how I see it That's the sentiment echoed at AFK

Hi guys Always welcome Speak soon -
As of last night ,Ahmad Bilal from AFK Kickboxing on Sidney Street in town is now the ISKA Super-Lightweight English champion. Originally Ahmad was intended to fight for the Lightweight title. He lost his opponent and one of the two opponents competing for the Super Lightweight Title. Result, Ahmad stepped up a division. After a 5 round war Ahmad won on decision. Ahmad from AFK Kickboxing currently has a record of 9 wins and 3 losses , as well as being the ISKA English champion, he is also the K-1 World Number 2 . on the under card , AFK's Khalid Al-Johani won by KO in round 3 his PRO K-1 rules bout and Mujjy Ahmed (also of AFK) won by TKO in round 2. On the rest of the card, Dean Hampshire of the MKA gym in Firth Park won by KO by body shot in the first 40 seconds earning him a chance to challenge for the Welterweight title. Danny Rowlett of Marsdens All Styles in Hillsborough won a hard fought points decision over a tough opponent with a good fight record. Nutrition Expert Simon Herbert of PRO Fitness in association with BODYFLO won by KO in Round one while in the MMA Sam Ribansky (BODYFLO) won by submission over Sidge O Kane (Steel Evolution) in a local MMA Derby . Girl Power reigned supreme in the GP4C Boxing bouts featuring girls from Steel Evolution and Thanapron Muay Thai camp. An excellent night was had by all who said this was the best show they had ever attended.
