  1. I have used the 17 for the first time this week, have to say I have found the service okay so far. Apart from it being freezing on the bus and the floor was very wet. Caught the 6.29 am from Thorpe House. On Tuesday it turned up on time and Thursday was about 5 mins late. I got to work just off Prince of Wales Road in about 40 minutes which is much better than my usual journey of waiting for the 20 (which more often than not is very late or just does not turn up) and then either 120, 42 or 44 from town, the total journey can take me well over an hour most days! The 17 does go a long way round and I have a 10 minute walk to the bus stop but as long as it keeps turning up on time I think it will be my preferred journey to work as it is quicker and I don't have to change buses
  2. I think it was originally recorded by Tracey Chapman
  3. Success .... i managed to contact them and get my dog booked in
  4. Does anyone know whether Hallows Boarding Kennels at Woodhouse is still open. I have used them for the last 4 to 5 years and have tried to ring them numerous times during the last week to book my dog in for our holidays and cannot get an answer. The phone rings a few times and then goes to a message saying the mail box is full and you cannot leave a message Any information would be greatly appreciated as otherwise I have to try and find somewhere else at fairly short notice. Thanks
  5. We stayed in Turunc last July, it was nice and peaceful. Went by water taxi to Marmaris. Wasn't impressed at all, just like Blackpool and very busy, had enough after an hour and went back to Turunc. Went to Olu Deniz about 15 years ago that was a really nice place, may have changed a lot since though as it was a long time ago.
  6. I tried these for the first time today while shopping in Manchester. I had a butterscotch one and a chocolate and custard filled one. They are expensive but they are very nice! I had to exercise great willpower to stop myself bringing a box of 12 back home with me. It would be great to be able to get these in Sheffield but it wouldn't be so good for my waistline:)
  7. To Welly, i remember your brothers and your dad, sorry to hear your mum has passed away. My mum passed away a couple of years ago. Its certainly brought back memories reading peoples posts about Eastcliffe. My brothers (Pete and Tom) and I spent a lot of time at Eastcliffe when my mum worked there. We used to live on Norfolk Park just up the road from Eastcliffe.
  8. I remember your mum, she worked with my mum and I seem to remember visiting your house with my mum. Did you live on Arbourthorne?
  9. I remember your aunt and your mum, think it would have been around 1976, my mum (Betty Low) worked at Eastcliffe. Sharon was in my year at school.
  10. We have used The Hollows at Woodhouse and our Staffy seems to really enjoy it there and is well looked after. He is a rescue dog and was boarded at the Hollows by the Rescue Centre we got him from. I was really worried about putting him in kennels again with him being a rescue dog and thought he might not settle and think we were abandoning him, but the first time we took him he was so excited and ran off with member of staff and never gave me a backward glance. He has just come back from a week at Hollows. I would certainly recommend them, they are very helpful and caring and very reasonably priced.
  11. remember josephines from late 70's early 80's. It was the better of the clubs at that time. Lads couldn't get in unless they wore jacket and tie I had my Hen party there in 82:D I remember a groups of us lasses dancing round our handbags on that dancefloor:D Was a very small dancefloor but i always thought it was the best club at that time
  12. I am also doing the 3pm race on 4 June
  13. I have not had any leaflets from any of the parties or canvassing either......perhaps it's because the letterbox is at the back of the house and they can't be bothered to walk round:)
  14. Graves Park is great...... has a lot to offer The rare breeds animal section is wonderful I love to walk through the park in spring and watch the squirrels.... the bluebells are stunning. The only down side is the amount of dog mess to be found on the grassed areas by the car parks.... We are so lucky to have so many wonderful parks in our city
