  1. couple of years ago I took my nephew, who was 6 at the time to his first airshow at raf Waddington, managed to get a spot where we could see the Vulcan parked close to the runway, still brings a smile to my face when he was unmercifully hauled up to sit on my shoulders and he saw it taxiing to where we was stood then proceed to take off, to say he was impressed is bit of an understatement, to cap it off, saw stand for dam busters as we was walking back, and two of original pilots was there signing books and he got chance to shake their hands

  14. buying the barrels is one thing, but as for the dispence equipment, try total cellar service, not sure how much they charge nowadays but they supply the coolers, taps, gas regulators etc, used to be in trade, or failing that, theres imi cornelius on the riverdale industrial estate at the bottom of herries road, who manufacture the equipment, if you can get the number and enquire bout getting it from them for a charge, thats if you dont mind setting it up yourself, basically all you need are the regs, the taps and a 4 way flash cooler, and youd be run up to four barrels off it
  15. would go with that, mr personality gets my vote, tho steel city that used to be under wicker arches was good, had 3 done there
  16. As has been stated before on this thread, IT IS NOT first that put the day tripper price up, but the SYPTE, if you get on stagecoach, youll find that it costs exactly the same price, are you going to complain about them putting the price up??? i realise people arent happy about recent increases, by certain companies, but as the tripper is available on all south yorkshire transport, barring yorkshire traction, isnt it safe to assume that it might be nothing to do with first this time, or is it a case of bought it from first bus, so ill blame them?
  17. bloody hell taggys, remember that used to be highlight of me sunday afternoon as a kid, round bout 5 oclock, bugger, am feeling me age now
  18. this is where the bus companies and council need to get their collective heads together, and stop their childish, its their fault type attitude, and sort out a middle ground on route, road, fare improvement for all, as its public/drivers that suffer in the long run, but as we all know both parties would rather spit dummies out than get things sorted
  19. although i realise that fares have gone up 4 times in the past year on first buses, people seem to forget that fares have rose to more or less in line with them on the terrier buses, but its first that gets the flak all the time, also, on the subject of bus lanes. as a driver by proffesion, i see more on the road than most do who just see what happens in the rush hour. People are quick to blame buses as they are they easiest targets through one medium or other, what people dont see is what can put down to, and i quote, 'human stupidity'. drivers in this day and age are in too much of a rush these days, therefore causing more problems on the road by not planning their journey as they drive. am not narrowing this to just drivers of cars, this is across the board, cars, lorries, buses, bikes and, wait for it as i can hear the cries of derision already, pedestrians. the roads in sheffield are antiquated an are in much need of time, money, repair which we all know the council will do hap hazardly or not at all whilst on the road i have seen cars carve buses up, missing them by inches, just to get that extra foot, pedestrians stepping into the road the road, thinking the are impervious to the traffic that adourns it, the list is endless lets please not finger point at just the one road user, we are ALL at fault, although the council could help by major road improvements as to the first fare debate, if they had left them as they were b4 the last increase, i personally think they were pretty reasonable
