  1. I spent the last 3 years of my secondary education at hinde house school. The next three years where spent at the sheffield college where two of those were on the AVCE science course. Now I am working and hope to study nursing september 2004. I actually applied for this coming year but applied a little late leaving me on the clearance list where there are no places available for sheffield. The name is Curtis! I vagely remember your mother. Was she filling in for Mrs West? I seem to remember a time where Mrs West was off ill and we had a supply teacher I think.
  2. Charlene was in my class. Is your mother Mrs West? She was a great teacher.
  3. You could just go and take it easy. It would be like starting from scratch fitness wise but you will soon get fit as you know the routine. Last year I missed a quite few sessions. I went back and the first session alwost killed me. 4 or 5 sessions later I was back into it. I stopped again for for a bit due to work and said to my self get fit then go back. A month later and I am no fitter and still don't go. So I am going to just go next week.
  4. when you say ethernet modem is this the cable modem (eg the motorola SB4100)? We managed to get it working using xp syste as the host however the computer using 98 was incredibly slow and we lost the connection very easily and were unable to get it back.
  5. Lets hypothosise. Two computers are present in a household. One runs win xp and has the internet broadband installed and working, the other has win 98. Both have network cards however the xp system for which the internet is on goes throug the usb port. Also available is a hub, and router and a straight through cable. The question! How does one share the internet (which the xp system has) with the computer running 98?
  6. does anyone know the current counsil tax rate for a band a house in sheffield?
  7. Did anyone go to or teach at Broad elms School between 1989 and 1994? If so please post! Teachers I can remember; Mrs Mclean, Mrs West, Mrs Stewart, Mrs Stevenson, Mr Taylor, Mr Greenwood, Mr Elliot, Mrs Lockwood, Mrs Stallard, Mrs Boothe Students I can remember (I won't mention surnames for privacy) Nicky, John, Luke, 2 Stephens, 2 Richards, 3 Andrews, Sharleen, Sarah, Jonathan. If I have forgotten anyone I appologise. Please post any other names.
  8. I went to 2 schools. The first was Deerlands between 1994 and 1996 and then Hinde House between 1996 and 1999
  9. Hi Crimbo. I have heard of the gojo ryu and I'm not sure whether it was the original style however I do know that Shotokan is a close relation to the original style founded in Okinawa. I think the history of martial arts, especially Karate is very interesting. I heard a story one (whether it is true I don't know). I master of a style possibly kung fu was ship wrecked on the island of Okinawa where he began to teach his knowlege. One of his students on Okinawa created his own style after years of training under this master. The knew stlye was tought to the creators sons who then later founded their own styles one of which included Shotokan. I have heard many theories, most of which suggest the chinese martial art was the founding style to which karate is based.
  10. Anyone here into or train/practice martial arts (karate, kung fu, jujitsu, kendo, judo, aikedo, tieboxing, tiekwondo etc). To me boxing counts. I train in Karate and have trained for round about 4 years and am interested in maybe sharing/listerning to views and so forth obout different styles. My style is shotokan but I am interested in learning the history of other styles of karate and other martial arts.
