  1. There is a banner sign which says tiles and bathrooms, the banner is difficult to see from the road as its on the back fence.

  3. No because the tram draws from a source usually a overhead wire and the return to Earth is via the rails. I don't see a wire or an alternative
  4. UPDATE Sheffield - St Pancras services now running with a 10 min delay and not stopping at Loughborough

  8. Was abbey motors bought by SUT in the 1930s ?
  9. The SUT name could be used and was used by the deregulation bus co as SUT wasn't registered ( i understand they wanted to use Sheffield United tours but couldn't as it was registered). Not 100 percent sure what happened with SUT if it ended up with tracky or SYT/MAINLINE as it gets very complicated. The SUT name may now be registered as part of the dereg story.
  10. The merger / buyout was if I remember rightly Wallace Arnold bought shearings but unusually they then used the shearings name. Iam sure this is what happened However , in connection with the thread the Sheffield United tours name/ brand us invested in the Wallace Arnold company or its successors
  11. It was the bus co SUT they couldn't use the name Sheffield United tours as that is. a registered name understand it's now owned by Wallace Arnold
  12. For many years there was a boat shop on London Road Sheffield
  13. By midday it's tidy last November on the day of the bus changes I was on Arundle gate bus stops near the steps to fitzallem sq. The rubish was horrendous at 620 in the morning
  14. There is also the narrow gauge line at clayton west - kirkleesvlight railway. This near penistone. While not in Yorkshire there is peak rail at Matlock and butterly railway centre just south of Chesterfield there is a very good viaduct/ bridge over the lake.

  17. Eleven rough sleepers in Sheffield is a large number, traveling in Sheffield city centre early in a morning it is obvious that the problem as got worst in recent years. Not sure if it's connected but the number of street drinkers in the day as increased
  18. Road now reopen I presume as there is nothing on stagecoach website the routes are back to normal
  19. Owing to burst water main in Dronfield - possibly stubley lane buses are running non stop via Bradway tinkers corner till 11th July. Full details on stagecoach website under service disruptions sorry the link won't post
  20. Understand it will reopen on 18th August. While still owned by punch the chain name will be different - Eagle inns I think. The work I understand involves new kitchen equipment , new toilets including disabled, changes to seating layout & tables/ decking on part of bowling green Upstairs the old stage will be removed a toilet and bar installed so it becomes a function room, a staff room/ office will also be provided.   21. You can't as far as I know have heavy rail running along roads
  22. That's what Iam hoping someone can tell me why it's always a week early and is then confined to vehicles and stalls on fargate
  23. The arms forces day in Sheffield was last Saturday rest of the country did it yesterday why are we always a week early ?
