  1. Hi there, My sister in law is originally from Sydney and has lived here in the UK for 9yrs and loves it. She felt cut off from the rest of the world in Oz and loves the fact she can travel all over Europe in a few hours. Even if you get a flat in the south of Sheffield, somewhere nice and leafy like Totley or Nether Edge it will take you less than an hour to get to Sheff Uni by car for your commute to work or school . You'll find asking peoples opinions of areas of Sheff on this forum can sometimes be confusing, if you live in one of the less sought after areas of Sheff it's a natural instinct to stick up for where you live if some one says it's a dump ( if that makes sense). Anyway enjoy your time in Sheffield we're a friendly lot and surrounded by lots of beautiful countryside.
  2. I can offer you silk wedding flowers to your own design and style from £20 for a bouquet and £1.50 for a buttonhole. Just click on the link to view a couple of my designs. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/roseandcarnationhandtieds002.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/roseandcarnationhandtieds008.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/roseandcarnationhandtieds001.jpg I have just finished the specialist wedding floristry course at Sheffield College and have made wedding flowers for other forummmers if you would like recommendations.
  3. Hi there, You don't need to be trade to buy from the market, although you wont get the trade price for your flowers. I would be happy to do your wedding flowers for you, just click on the links below to view some of my work. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/roseandcarnationhandtieds008.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/roseandcarnationhandtieds001.jpg PM me if you would lke a price list for hand tied or shower bouquets, buttonholes, corsages and cake decorations.
  4. Hi everyone, I've been reading a few posts about stressful wedding experiences and can totaly relate to them as I had a good few of my own . So I thought I'd post this yoga/breathing relaxation technique, it really helps to calm the mind and is a very gentle breathing exercise. Sit comfortably with straight back Close your eyes Take your attention to your breathing Use your right thumb and ring finger to close one nostril at a time Close right nostril and breathe out through the left Breath in left, close left and breath out right Breathe in right Close right and breathe out left Continue in this pattern Make all breathing as slow and deep as you are comfortable with make sure the outbreath is as least as long as the in braeth, gently work towards increasing the outbreath to be twice as long as the inbreath.
  5. Thanks . Wasn't sure if I'd gone a bit too funky with the contemporary one but I can't resist those spikey crysanths.
  6. Sounds cool, count me in . Is it a swapsy sort of thing do I bring a thing with me?
  7. What about sculpting something from aluminium florists wire. See pic for idea http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/caketoppers022.jpg
  8. Hi everyone, I've had a productive weekend trying out a few new bouquet styles and would really like to hear your opinions. 9. Have a gander at my pomander! http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/wreathandpomander002.jpg
  10. Hi there, Got really inspired by the spring sunshine and buds on the trees and made this spring inspired wedding wreath. I used twisted willow, white apple blossom, ivy and apple blossom foliage. Is it something that would appeal for a spring wedding ? http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/wreathandpomander001.jpg
  11. Hi there, I can provide cake decorations for the tiers and top of your cakes, see the links for some examples. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/caketoppers020.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/caketopperssheffforum001.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/buttonholesandwirework014.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/buttonholesandwirework005.jpg You can contact me at lunaflorainfo@googlemail.com or PM me.
  12. Thanks for your thoughts and experiences. I have only been to Brussels once, for a very wet weekend and struggled with my French, I think this may have clouded my view of the place slightly. At the mo we are very fortunate to be living in a leafy suberb of Sheff with a slow pace of life and would really want to replicate this in a suberb of Brussels, do you think thats possible or would we need to be lottery winners to get that sort of lifestyle. Almost all the places I have seen to rent are apartments.
  13. I had a daisy theme for my own wedding, so good choice there! It depends how you want to go in terms of jazzing your daisys up, you could incorporate some twisty willow or twigs into the bouquet I know that might sound a bit odd. will try to find a piccie on line to show what I mean. They might look nice with some yellow or white gerberas tied with lemon and white gingham ribbon in a posie. Or roses and ranunculus come in lovely shades of yellow.
  14. The red rose toppers are available from £3.99 + postage. I can make one to your own design if you would like.
  15. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/buttonholesandwirework009.jpg My silver and black bouquet became a silver and black buttonhole as I ran out of time becuase I got totally distracted making these ideas for cake toppers. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/buttonholesandwirework002.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z167/gwilligwenbob/buttonholesandwirework005.jpg The silver rose is a foam rose with silver craft spray and the leaves are dyed with a fabric pen, let me know what you think.
