  1. Thanks for the offer mate. I have had a couple of people look at it and they couldn't get it to work either. So I am going to ask them for a refund and buy a different monitor somewhere else.. Hopefully 1 that works!
  2. It goes straight into the monitor, there is no power brick. I think the monitor is defunct as there is no sign of life. This is my 2nd from them so maybe they just sent me back the first 1! I will ask them for a refund, thanks for the help.
  3. I get no sign of life at all.. And this is the 2nd monitor they have sent me as I had exactly the same problem the first time around. That is why I thought maybe it was because the DVI wasn't connected. Are all monitors and desktops compatable with each other?? I have no other monitor but I have an old PC I can try the monitor on. I don't hold out much hope though that it will work.
  4. VGA is connected but I get no display on the monitor. Maybe there is something wrong with the monitor or the desktop.
  5. Thanks for the reply. The VGA is connected.. There is just 1 connection on the PC as far as I can see. If they do the same job do I need the DVI connected? Sorry if I am sounding a bit dumb here.. I wish I was more technically minded.
  6. Thanks. So that is why I get nothing but a blank screen? I have to connect up the DVI using an adaptor? Is that easy to do.. Will any adaptor do the job?
  7. The VGA and everything else except the DVI is connected up. The monitor has both VGA and DVI connectors. I have a white DVI connector but it will not fit to the back of my desktop. So I am assuming I need to buy some kind of adaptor? Do I need to connect the DVI to the desktop for my monitor to work? Is it vital? What does it actually do?
  8. Hi all, Hoping somebody can help me I apoligies if these are dumb questions but I am not as technically savvy as I would like. I am trying to connect my monitor to a desktop computer but I get no display on the monitor, no LED light, it just looks pretty dead to me! My question is does the DVI cable need to be connected from the monitor to the desktop for there to be a display? The cable does not fit my desktop so would I need an adapter? Everything else is connected but I am unsure how important this DVI connection is and what it is used for. Thanks
  9. Re-installed Java but still dosen't work i'm afraid. Does anybody have any other ideas?
  10. Took it to a place and they got rid of the virus. I assume it has gone as everything is running fine apart from the 1 program that I can't get on. Yeah, I need to be online to run the application. I will reinstall Java and see if it works. Thanks
  11. I have just turned the firewall off and tried it and it still dosen't work. So I guess it has nothing to do with a firewall then. Does anybody have any other ideas why I would not be able to get on this program?? Thanks
  12. Thanks for the help mate, I will look into this.
  13. Good idea. Will try this tommorrow.
  14. Pokerstars, it's windows firewall.
