Hi someone mentioned a West Indian Community single storey building somewhere between Crookes Valley Road and Upperthorpe Road to me. It was known locally as the Bog House. Probably in the 50s 60s 70s. Does anyone know anything about it and where it was exactly?

Thanks for this. I guess 80 years ago locals could have referred to Carterhall Road and Carterhall Lane together as Carter Lane. I've seen Carter Lane written down in an official document but could have been quoting a local. -
Can anyone please tell me where Carter Lane was in Gleadless? Was it immediately off White Lane and renamed as Carter Hall Road at some stage after WW2? And what is now Carter Hall Lane previously Carter Lane too?
