  1. none of the clothes or shoes that i have ever bought from primark have been particularly faulty. i work in retail and can say for a fact that shops with far more expensive merchandise often come back faulty, its the nature of manufacturing, not everything is consistently produced. i have so much sympathy for the poor people who work in primark, the mess they have to deal with and the sheer rudeness and ignorance of a lot of customers is simply horrific.
  2. so so true. why do people on this forum seem to think that by being aggressive to bar/door staff they will get their own way? when people act like that it makes you more determined not to serve them.
  3. the royal standard down by the leadmill
  4. if he's not interested in going down that route, then maybe he shouldn't specify that the attackers were students, something which cannot be proved or disproved, when theres quite a lot of sensitivity on this forum regarding the activities of students.
  5. the idea of forced intergration is absurd. If people want to live in a community with those of the same culture, then fair enough. Its when there is no communication or understanding between groups that problems develop. I find it interesting that no one mentions the Lozells riots in Birmingham a couple of years ago, where a man was murdered and trials are currently on going for those accused of participation.
  6. problem is, its too hidden and people cant really be bothered to trek that far. it is a beautiful venue, but was never advertised or promoted, which is a shame
  7. i wasnt aware the sheffield nandos advertised itself as being halal, i may be wrong though. there is a halal nandos in birmingham, which is promoted as such, so that indicates that using hala meat is not policyin all nandos.
  8. all those things add a bit of excitement to the night anyway, when you never know whats going to go tits up next
  9. ah, the delightful bankers draft, it really has the skankiest customers ever. so many tracksuits in one place, its like walking in to sportsworld.
  10. Most clubs and pubs in sheffield have a no hats, hoods and trackies policy, as do venues in most places anywhere in this country. and how is full cooperation with the police in anyway negative? surely it is a positive sign that places are taking a sensible and responsible position regarding the safety of their patrons.
  11. Do you not expect there to be maybe a few teething problems on the opening night of a new venue? corp has had problems on plenty of occasions such as flooded (properly flooded) toilets and sound systems acting the goat, and that is in a long established venue. Corp is also not the cheapest of clubs at the weekend, its good during the week when they are catering for the student market, but they jack the prices up at the weekend, at least they did for the years that i went there. And, quite frankly, the vodka served in pretty much any club in sheffield seems to be made up of leftover paint stripper, especially leadmill and corp. makes me feel quesy to remember my stomach lining being burned away by the stuff
  12. get a tattoo mag )skin deep/total tattoo etc) and see if theres anyones work that you like, the travel to them. portrait work is a real specialist area, make sure you see a lot of the artists previous work; you dont want it to end up boss eyed or something
  13. go to a piercing studio, theres a good one on west street, cant remember the name. a studio will be able to advise you on the best one for you.
  14. try ymca in the city centre, its in the old star store shop near coles (or at least it was when i was last in sheff). they have loads of furniture and are pretty cheap.
  15. ive just seen this (and the cctv footage) on the bbc, and am absolutely disgusted by the behaviour of the police officers in question. i know northern women can be strong as oxes, but does it really take that number of large, trained men to restrain one woman, who is of pretty slight build? punching someone five times is uncalled for, especially when on the video it can be seen very clearly that the punches follow each other in quick succession, so the officer in question has hardly waited to check the impact that his punches have had on the woman. having seen sheffield police in action on many occassions, i can say im not suprised by this, im just pleased that theyre being pulled up for such behaviour with such publicity. yes, the woman committed a crime, but does that give police the right to batter her? god help us all if that is what is classed as reasonable force.
