  1. My Brother Doug Page went to St George's round about 1946/47.
  2. Remember Roz, long hair, used to give the skates out.
  3. My mum & dad often spoke about the Salutation. If it's the same one they would have gone in there in the 1940's. Knowing my dad he probably would have sung in there. My grandad might have even played the piano in there if there was one?
  4. I lived on Forres Road in Crookes 1960's/70's and I'm sure there was a family by the name of Savage that lived on the same road.
  5. I'm sure Phillip Foster was the son of Hendy & Winnie. He was a good friend of my brother Doug Page. He often spoke of Foz. I believe sadly Phillip was killed in an accident many many years ago. Possibly a motor bike accident.
  6. I remember this it was called "First Footing". It was bloody cold stood outside in Sheffield at midnight. Usually ankle deep in snow.
  7. In Sheffield we used to go round the houses on New years Eve "Wassailing". Here we come a wassailing among the leaves so green, Here we come a wassailing the fairest ever seen Love & Joy Come to you and to you your wassails too Pray God send you all a happy New Year. Nobody would have a clue these days what we were singing about!
  8. I went to Crookes Endowed from 1960. My brother ( Rob Page) who was older than me went to Lydgate Lane.
  9. I lived on Forres Road in Crookes in the 60/70's and I remember a Madge Ambler. Her husband was a small man and walked with a stoop.
  10. I attended Crookes Endowed from 1961 - 1967 and Mrs Thomas was the Head Teacher then. I remember Mrs Kirk was the infant teacher & Mrs Brittain was the juniors teacher & also Miss Ramsden. It was only a small school but a very good school I think. Mr Sencer was the caretaker & Mr Howarth was the lollipop man outside the school. I also used to live on Forres Road so only a short walk on Carson Road past The Masons to school .
  11. Hi we must have been there at the same time to get the free tickets but I left in 1975.
  12. Hi Sheffworker I also worked at Debenhams (Pauldens) at that time and was given free tickets to see the Hollies gig and really enjoyed it. What was your mum's name and which department did she work in I might know her?
