  1. Spot on with that. A nicely chargrilled skewer of lamb and chicken together with a mound of fresh salad may well be my desert island meal. On the other hand, meat of dubious quality and 2 day old salad, no thanks.
  2. Indeed geared. And there are cases of businesses who store their veg oil or whatever they use outside and it being stolen.
  3. Nowt like re-jigging a couple of things in Llandudno😜.
  4. Don’t shoot the messenger here, but ticket acceptance is normally only in operation for unforseeable disruption like flooding, derailments or suicide. Strike action which is published at least the mandatory 2 weeks in advance won’t be included. Another option for RollingJ would be train to Cardiff, then there’s a national express every 90 minutes to London, and then to the south coast from there.
  5. You can send it by all means. Don’t hold your breath waiting for an answer though, otherwise you’ll be coming home in a hearse!
  6. Tastes better if you’ve got summat knocked off the price.
  7. Yep. Same here. Did it myself last year in Inverness. Caution though. Shop around for a keener priced hotel, it’ll only be for the one night.
  8. Yep. Picked up Harry’s battered haddock from Morissons some time back. Very nice indeed, especially as it was yellow stickered!
  9. I fully agree with both the above, but just occasionally a take away treat refreshes the parts that home cooking can’t reach.
  10. It’s not mandatory, but it’s a way of squeezing more profit out of the consumer. What with that and a delivery charge it hikes the price of your takeaway by quite a bit, especially if like me you’re only ordering for one person. If you contact the takeaway directly and place your order and then collect it yourself then the extra charges don’t apply. Indeed, some places are now saying if you order with them directly there’ll be a discount, which in reality is the percentage they would have been charged by the ordering “service”.
  11. I think you’ve answered your own question there ab6262. When they diversify from the core items it’s spreads quality very thinly. A good chippy concentrating on just fish and chips, and derivatives thereof, with perhaps pies in a hot cabinet is head and shoulders above the burgers, kebab, pizza boys. Cooking fish and chips properly is an art, requiring an experienced fryer who knows what he’s doing. Incidentally near where I used to live a new takeaway opened doing around 30 types of pizza, numerous burgers and kebabs etc and also fish and chips, all available on one of the delivery apps. If they got an order for fish and chips, or someone came into the shop wanting fish and chips then one of the staff nipped out the back door and went down the road to the traditional chippy and got the fish and chips from there! Eventually the chippy twigged what was happening and put the block on selling to the newbies.
  12. I once stood at a urinal next to Shakin Stevens. Nervous or what?
  13. Point of order there RollingJ. Having a clue what you’re doing isn’t a qualification required to be a senior manager. Just look at the Post Office!
  14. And there’s more. With all that beheading going on, there was mass unemployment among the hair dressing community. On the plus side dandruff was unknown.😜 .
  15. Shows they can’t be all that good if the thieves took it back! Plus I seem to remember being told that to tow an electric vehicle you have to disconnect the drive shaft.
  16. If you think back to when the great Sir Robin Day did the World at One on radio 4 he used to refer to the area as the independent republic of South Yorkshire. Power to the people.
  17. Improvements eh. Of course, I made a stupid comment in my last post, because if you do find anything then they’re legit.
  18. Yes. I assume it’s still the Yorkshire Area Traffic Comissioners. All applications for operators licences, operating centres, route changes, disciplinary proceedings, and much much more can be found there. Normally published weekly. I’d be interested to know if you find owt. You may have to go back some time. Good hunting.
  19. Any alteration to an operators licence, including registration of a new operating centre will have been published in the Traffic Comissioners Notices and Proceedings, a well known cure for insomnia!
  20. I would say so, but after charging they should be moved to the registered operating centre for parking, cleaning and maintenance etc.
  21. Another point of order RollingJ. If the buses are being charged, parked and operated from Pond Street has it been registered with DVSA as an operating centre? It needs to be if this is an ongoing arrangement.
