  1. La Cathedrale de Strasbourg - Focus Jennifer Eccles - Hollies Eccles, Greater Manchester
  2. Impressive! 2 in 1 with neither being a "known" location! Lily the Pink - Scaffold Pretty in Pink - Psychedelic Furs Pink, Oklahoma
  3. Because there are very many passionate people who are involved with these sports who push these agendas that are very much at odds with the public. Top European football people passionately pushed the European Super League, and it only got stopped due to public pressure. Passionate minorities end up changing rules and ultimately ruining sports for the majority. Following the title of this thread, the Olympics are turning into a joke for other reasons as well - witness the high jumpers who decided they'd have a gold medal each instead of continuing competing! Ridiculous!
  4. Ain't that peculiar - Marvin Gaye Peculiar, Missouri
  5. Definately not! Men have to accept that women have equal say in sports that are predominantly male: indeed, male icons are recruited to "push" the female versions of male sports so they get equal coverage in the media, despite not having the support elsewhere. I think its time that men pushed for an equal say in traditionally female sports. Lets have gender-equal panels judge what rules women should follow in their sports.
  6. I used to like the band, but I'd never heard of this one - checked lyrics and wonder why they picked Rochdale - I thought they were all Salford lads. Oh well! We've already had "Rochdale Cowboy", so I can't post that as a reply!
  7. I also think its genuine question - and from a regular, sensible poster.
  8. Tell me why - Neil Young Why do fools fall in love? - Frankie Lymon & Teenagers I wonder why - Shawadywaddy Why, Arizona
  9. A comfy seat has become vacant - just as I'm about to go - would you credit it. Oh well, see you all folks!
  10. You should have greased the hinge on your back passage
  11. Usually you can email the email provider, then you'll be faced with the security questions you set up when you opened the account with them. Alternately, many ask for an emergency contact (phone or other email) should you lose the password, and that helps in this situation. Good luck!
  12. Thanks Jane - interesting conversations tonight. Pity I can't get comfortable on this stool, as others are in the comfy seats
  13. I thought spiders had webs not sheds - surely they can't afford sheds as well?
  14. Coward of the County - Kenny Rogers Coward, S Carolina Oh, Marion - Paul Simon Marion, Alabama
  15. I think the best way to cut costs is to stop the rollout of smart meters. We are told we need them to save money by knowing what each of our appliances costs, but in reality we still need to keep warm, so having a meter does very very little in cutting consumption. It does mean , however, that prices have to rise to pay for the advertising for them, for the gangs of sales people contracted to knock on doors pressing people to have them (e.g. British Gas using MPE marketing), and for the expense and installation costs of these "smart" meters.
  16. ... and Salmon Pastures, Attercliffe!
  17. 6 bets for £10 - must have combinations. Looks like I agree with some of yours! I think the Owls will struggle again, so not going for them, I don't bet on leading scorers as they often get snapped up by PL clubs, Sunderland and Middlesborough are ones I'm likely to go for as well when I do my annual bets next week. I also like going for PL Handicaps - usually getting there or close. I'll certainly be considering Brentford if they are on a decent handicap. Blades to go back up as well....... COYRAWW! I used to go for group bets (4 or 5 teams in a group and the odds on them winning that group). Sometimes they are regional, other times on expected positions within the league. A yankee between 4 groups is a good cheap way of following clubs throughout the season. Didn't find anybody doing them last season sadly!
  18. Hammered by the media the next time he didn't win something - just as you would expect from our media. He got us to the first final since 1966, and he's still getting grief because we didn't win the thing!
