OUR leader?
Â
I wondered who this thread was about - the PM (whoever it is today), the new King, the 2nd coming, but the last thing I expected was this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Â
I think there is enough room allocated to headings of new posts to be a tad more specific.....

Oddly enough, that is the second time I've heard that term used. It took me a while to remember where I'd first heard it, but it's come back to me now - I overheard mention of it in a conversation at Padders Bar. I'm pretty sure it was someone with the memorable name of Longprong. Perhaps if you popped into said bar and asked around........

All the best to him - regardless of which team we follow, I think all of us would wish him the best.

At least a draw for us today, I reckon!

There is plenty of room for the track without disturbing too many homes or properties. There is an ideal Park and Ride area at the old Norton RAF site and the track could be extended further to serve Greenhill and Lowedges.Â
Excellent idea!Â
Â
However, I think the planners have already decided to take their original plan from years ago out of mothballs and run a line up Chesterfield Road. I hope I'm wrong, but time will tell!

It did to me. Yes, the ref made a mistake, but as I see it probably not the one most people thought he'd made. The challenge on Haaland merited a foul, but the ref saw an advantage and waved play on. The game can be called back and the foul awarded if no advantage accrues to the attacking team. I think he watched play develop, thought Grealish was offside, and blew for the original foul. Had Grealish actually been offside, that was the right thing to do.
Â
What I can't understand is why no action has been taken against Haaland with his reaction to that decision. We have all seen his words censored, and I assumed he'd have to face a disrepute charge. As he's not facing one, we can all look forward to many more major foul-mouthed strops from players in future games.

.... which of course is one of the reasons the planners will be wanting this to go ahead - it will cause pressure from people for a resolution of the extra traffic problems this development will bring .... and the planners will then say the solution is their pet idea - Supertram! Which, when they get it installed, will mean less parking for cars visiting Woodseats shops, and more shops closing as a result - even if they survived the disruption caused by the inevitable major chaos of the work laying the tracks down.

Many thanks to Planner1 for the knowledgeable contributions to date. I hope others (agree or disagree with the poster) would respect and value the contribution this poster has and continues to make to this thread

I find it odd that this duo, who did great for us but then left complaining that no money was available when we had injuries after promotion should even consider coming back when Hecky has faced the same problems, and again no money was forthcoming.

According to SSN, 2pm is cancelled, PH and SM have left the club and CW is in a meeting with them now.

I read on Teletext that almost 10% of smart meters are not working properly. I know many people on here don't like others quoting the BBC, but here is their take on it:

I think the Government, who are pushing this rollout, ought to stop it until they have sorted this all out.

It's the lack of updates for almost 12 hours that's upset me most - so I've been glued to the window all day, insteaad of being free to do other things!

Â
Amazon has until recently given me email updates on the day giving approximate time windows for delivery - often updated 3/4 times, then the map of how many stops - updated each 10 seconds. So, if I got up and it said delivery between apptrox 2:30pm and 3:30pm, then I could go shopping all morning, be back for 1pm, and be pretty certain I would be back in time.  Today, all I got was a message in the early hours of the morning saying delivery would be before 10pm, then nothing until about 20 mins before delivery in late afternoon. Then I got the map and the number of stops.
Â
I hope they revert to the previous system - if not I too may reconsider my Prime membership.

A problem with ebay (and others) is that when sellers list their goods, they do not neccessarily either say who the carrier is that they use, or they list one, and use another.  I look for ones specifying "Royal Mail" as I find them the most relaible. Even so, I have had these delivered by other couriers, including Evri/Hermes. I've also had Evri/Hermes and other couriers sand emails saying "handed to customer", when they've been left on doorsteps, in full view of passing footfall, without even ringing the bell or knocking on my door (I'm usually waiting in, reading a book!)
Â
As for Amazon - I like their tracking, except to today it's changed, with no indication at all of likely delivery timeslot, so I had to wait in from early morning until it was delivered early evening! I've also had Amazon items delivered by Royal Mail (presumably cheaper/faster for them to do it that way!)

So, a non-league football club with very small crowds does a great PR show and hoodwinks most of us into getting them a prime site, building a big stadium, getting them memorabilia from SUFC, SWFC etc to create a stadium and museum with very little parking spaces for the crowds, all in an area already blighted by traffic problems, and we are meant to all fall in line and applaud SCC for backing it?
Â
And when it is built and we get gridlock when they hold evening gigs in it to pay the bills , the same people will be lambasting SCC for their part in it all!
Â
There is something we're missing here though - the brains behind all this needs to be identified and given a major role somewhere..... if they can pull this stunt off - and if anybody can sort out world hunger, climate change etc - that will be the individual!

Traffic will simply come to a standstill....even more regularly than it does now!
All very predictable, and has been for years.
Â
What will happen then? Well, the Council will ride to the rescue with their pet plan that was rumbled years ago and subsequently mothballed - extend the Supertram up Chesterfield Road. With that in place, they can stop subsidising some routes, so there will be less busses for us to choose from.
Â
Businesses of all kinds will have to suffer the enormous disruption of the ongoing work to sort this out, and many will fold as a result as there will be fewer customers able to get to them.
Â
I seem to remember being told Don Valley was going to be a great stadium for both Rugby and a venue for music shows. That didn't work out either.

At the lane... a new Doctor and Physio who can get the players fit!Â
Â
IF January sees Everton are still close to the bottom with us, AND we've got some cash from somwhere AND the rest of the squad are gettinog fit, hows about a bid to get D C-L back? Perhaps he'd fancy our chances of staying up rather than theirs?
