  1. Still searching for ideas.....??
  2. Yes, staying in bed is one (very likeable!) option.... but we have the honeymoon for all that too! Maybe the going away for a night in a hotel on our own might be a great idea...
  3. I'd definitely like to give favours to all guests but am struggling with what?! I'd like to give the blokes one thing and the gals something else. I've been to weddings which have given small gifts in the way of chocolates or sweets, and one wedding I went to gave lottery tickets / scratch cards - all of which are nice ideas - but I was just trying to think of something different?! What is everyone else doing for theirs? All suggestions welcome!! Thank you!!
  4. ... what are people planning for the day AFTER their wedding day? Obviosuly some couples will be heading straight off on honeymoon but we wont be going on ours until a couple of days after our wedding, so... do we spend the day after just on our own, enjoying our first full day of marriage together? Do we make the most of the fact that family & friends may still be around so see them? Do we plan a big family meal say with parents and the new in-laws? Or will we be so tired we'll just want to sleep??!! I just dont want it to be an anti-climax after what will be an amazing wedding day!!
  5. Thanks - does sound wise to book most things in sooner rather than later, to avoid last minute stress if nothing else! Will e-mail you... Thnaks again
  6. It might not be unusual, but it can get you down!
  7. I see 'too much' as when it stops you doing the things you normally would do or stops you from being you. When Im thinking (negatively) too much I just end up getting frustrated and angry and upset which isn't me at all. I think when its obviously becoming irrational is when its too much and thats when you need to stop. Easier said than done I know... but you can do it!!
  8. Thanks for your replies - not sure about a mobile hairdresser? Think I prefer a the 'salon experience' ha! Heard Wigs and Warpaints were good - any stylist in particular? All I ever really want is a cut & finish on mid-long length hair... Thanks again!
  9. We are getting married next May and will be wanting / needing some chair covers. How soon do we need to book these in? At the moment it is isnt top of my list of things to do but wouldnt want to leave it too late then not get any??!! Also, any recommendations would be great - we wouldnt really want to spend more than £3 per chair... Many Thanks!
  10. I have been a customer at Creator on West Street for a good few years now but I've not been that impressed with the last few hair cuts I've had there so am looking for somewhere new. Can anyone recommend any good hair salons (similar to Creator in terms of experience / style / cost etc.)? Ideally in the city centre or S10 / S11... Many Thanks!
  11. Hi there, I'm getting married next year and am just about to start shopping for my wedding dress - eek!! VERY EXCITED!! Not sure where to start though as there are so many bridal shops in Sheffield. Can anyone please recommend any or let me know their 'favourites'? (Based on service, price, styles etc.) I've heard there are a couple on/near Eccelsall Road which are really good including Pronuptia and Emily. What would you say is the best Bridal Shop in Sheffield? Many Thanks!!
  12. We are looking for a good, value for money, reliable window cleaner in S10 - can anyone recommend one? Many thanks!
  13. We are hoping to get married next May and now that is less than a year away, I've started thinking about all the things that need doing and booking in! We havent done anything yet, eek! I've heard photographers are one of the first things that we should get booked in - how far in advance would you say we'd have to do this? Thanks for your help!
  14. We are hoping to get married next Spring - we are aiming for a church wedding followed by a reception at Whirlow Hall. I just wondered if anyone had had their wedding breakfast / evening reception here? The main reason I ask (as well as for general feedback on this venue) is that we've been told we could not sit down for the wedding breakfast until 5.30pm as they have to keep the cafe there open until then. This is a bit later than I'd ideally want and am a bit worried about turn around times and keeping everyone entertained between the church ceremony and sitting down for the meal etc. Has anyone had any experience of this at Whirlow? And if so, how did the timings etc. all work out? Many thanks for your help and feedback - am sure it'll be absolutely fine but think I just need to put my mind at ease!
