  1. Joe Green – Experienced Sheffield based drum tutor. ALL AGES AND ABILITIES WELCOME, NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. TUNING, POSTURE AND TECHNIQUES TAUGHT. With teaching methods developed through years of experience on how to motivate and develop a programme of learning to suit each individual student, Black Lantern offer drum lessons for all abilities from beginner to professional. Based at Crystal Ship Studio in Sheffield, we have the facilities to record full sessions and provide students with an insight into the world of a professional working musician, with one to one tuition from Joe Green (Milburn, Dead Sons, Backhanded Compliments, Reverend & the Makers). Joe picked up his first pair of drum sticks at the early age of 13 after receiving a drum kit for his birthday. 2 years later Joe and a group of friends started the band Milburn. In 2001 Joe and Milburn where signed to the record label Mercury and the band went on to release 2 albums selling over 100,000 albums worldwide. Due to the success of Milburn, Joe’s extensively toured Europe and Japan, playing with many bands including Arctic Monkeys, The View, The Rifles and Reverend and the Makers. After his achievements with Milburn, Joe went on to perform with many bands including Baby Bird, The Book Club, Mairead, The Back Handed Compliments and now currently plays with the Sheffield band Dead Sons. As well as his continued commitment to playing and performing Joe completed The Music Industry Programme during 2003 at Red Tape Studios Sheffield. This was a voluntary course lasting 26 weeks that helped Joe increase his awareness of how the music industry works and how to become successful within it. 2011 saw Joe receive a First Class Honours Degree in Music Performance and Professional Practice. Joe excelled in developing the skills needed to work with other musicians and perfected various teaching techniques. This lead to his teaching role in the ‘A Mind Apart’ programme, teaching special needs children at a local Community Centre. Joe adapted his own workshops to meet the needs and skills of his students and created classes that used drumming not only for recreation but also as a source of rehabilitation. Joe is presently working on several projects, he’s both playing live and recording on a regular basis. Recently he has toured with Reverend & The Makers and Milburn, including playing the Summer’s major festivals, Benicassim, Y Not and V Festival. Tuition – £20 p/h [email protected] @BLDrumming
