Just wanted to let everyone know about the Big Bike Revival happening from Saturday 23rd May, supported by ReCycle Bikes and CIC Penistone. It's a national event all about getting people to use their old bikes again by putting on free bike repair workshops, Dr Bike sessions and so on. I do think it's going to be hard drive. Handily i did a back up last week and haven't done much since. Also we have a laptop because you're right loss of internet = not good, esp as we're wow addicted!

Thanks for the responses guys! My gut feeling is hard drive - it's getting power and the fan comes on briefly as normal but then nothing else occurs. New hard drive fitting def beyond me, hence my question. I can drive but I'm at work right now Ghozer - can i contact you later if you're still feeling generous?

Hi all, My PC gave up the ghost on me yesterday, I can switch it on but it doesn't want to boot up - no loading screen of any kind and it just makes a gentle ticking noise. It's a Packard Bell machine, bought it just under 2 years ago. Intinially i just wanted your thoughts - i am of limited knowledge with PC hardware type stuff, shall i just get someone in to look at it - I've seen a couple of recommendations on here and i don't feel overly confident about tackling it myself as i assume it's going to be something serious? Thanks!

Got woken up about 3am by a load of police & marked/unmarked police cars almost blockading on City Road by Travellers Rest pub - anyone know what was going on? They were there for about 30-40 mins in the end - looked like they were on the lookout for something/someone.

We've got a pretty crappy offshot kitchen we'd like to give an overhall. Kinda a two part job: 1. We want to look at extending the kitchen into what is currently the outside loo - are we likely to need planning permission for this? 2. The kitchen itself needs a total refurb, incl levelling the floor, new design, new fitting, new oven, etc etc all hopefully incorporating the extra space from extending into the toilet. Any advice/recommendations on how to proceed much apprecaited.

They have those in Canada and North America as well. BTW the rabbit's also an introduced species - do we need to kill them now too so Hare's will thrive again?

I use Fitness First on Archer Road - it's nicely equipped, good range of classes, staff are friendly too. There's no pool but there is a spa and i think i pay about £30 per month. They have sky TV and each CV machine has it's own screen. It's a great little gym if you're not bothered about having a swimming pool etc. Also u can use any fitness first round the country which i find a bonus.
