  1. What? So because in 1979 some people took some hostages (read into why they did that btw), it is ok to pass sanctions against a country 40 years later? Do you really think that? If so, what should happen to the UK who have been engaged in illegal wars resulting in the deaths of up to 2 million people? Slightly worse than a few hostages I am sure you will agree.
  2. What right do the EU and America (mainly America) have to impose sanctions? You understand how disgusting that is right?
  3. It was protected by a comcept called Transit Waters. It is difficult to pass by Gibraltar without entering international waters. Looking at this objectively, we have started this. We have a seat on the UN Security Council. We are one of the most influential nations on the planet.
  4. Because Syria aren't in the EU so are not subject to their sanctions. It's like me and Banjodeano banning you from having a mobile phone and then mugging you of it if we saw you in the street.
  5. I am more understanding of the protests than most, check the flack I have received from some of the other posters here. My chief complaint with the protests is the location. It can't be nice for the kiddies going to school to witness it. You didn't answer his question/contradict his statement. though. The statement was "there should be no problem with this protest". Your replied telling them they were wrong and then explaining that the protesters were wrong headed and foolish. This doesn't present a problem with their protest, unless you have a problem with people's right to protest on issues you disagree with them on. You are arguing against what they are protesting about, not the protest itself.
  6. I suppose deciding what the fundamentals of an ideology is can be open to interpretation. The Abrahamic religions are pretty homophobic though. However I largely agree with you. It is absolutely possible to support someones right to freedom expression without supporting their views. Not everyone here can grasp that.
  7. Ok so i To continue that analogy. You and I are walking through fargate and see such a guy tomorrow. He is shouting and screaming at women. I say "what a scumbag, society is going downhill. I blame his parents, the music he listens to etc". Would it not be right for you to say "come on mate, this person has been diagnosed with a mental illness. I am not justifying what he is saying it doing, but you must understand it is the illness". Because that is what I am doing with the protesters.
  8. We started this. Iran are saving face and have every right to. This could escalate, the Saudis will want it to. We should just apologise and give them their tanker back.
  9. Oh dear. We will be looking to Boris to fix this.
  10. Have you considered using the services of a debt collector. If you have any proof of the debt, you can pay someone to collect for you.
  11. Hmm ok. I don't really know where they stand on Brexit. "Get a good deal" isn't really a stance. There has been at least some clarity with regards to a potential position on a 2nd referendum (remain). I would support this. I think their chances are low under Corbyn. He couldn't beat May, one of the weakest PMs we have had for years. Dump him and they may have a chance.
  12. I am glad I am your favourite. You are near the top of my lists of "anti-semite defenders". Budding bromance indeed.
  13. This is what is known as a thought experiment. It's purpose is to reveal whether the consequence of Vince Cable saying that is the equivalent of Jeremey Corbyn saying something similar. You know this. It saddens me that this is your reaction to such blatant anti-semitism. History is littered with people like you.
  14. Roy Castle could have just got cancer anyway. Lung cancer isn't exclusively caused by smoking. The active ingredient in weed, THC, is only in very small doses during exhalation. You can get stoned from it, but you need to be in a fairly small non ventilated area.
  15. You won't answer because it will reveal what you believe. Hatred towards Jews is more forgivable than hatred towards other groups. I would condemn anyone, be they Labour, Tory, Lib Dems, Greens etc if they called a murderous hate group their friends. I would condemn any politician that shared a racist social media post. You do not and it speaks volumes.
  16. That like me saying the Nazis were my friends and then saying "do you agree with everything all your friends do". Can you please answer; If the EDL became as bad as Hamas (openly murderous statements and the like) would youmind if Vince Cable called them his friends?
  17. Worrying indeed. It is staggering he is even in the race. Nasty man.
  18. You obviously ignore most of what I say. In order to fanatically defend Corbyn Please answer the below; If the EDL became as bad as Hamas (openly murderous statements and the like) would you mind if Vince Cable called them his friends?
  19. What on earth makes you think I support the protesters?? I can understand their mindset. It doesn't mean I support them.
  20. I think a phobia is an irrational fear or dislike of something. That's what I say when challenging homophobes who use the common defence you describe. I have been on the receiving end of both bigotry and homophobia, and the punches felt identical.
  21. No, but this is yet another poor analogy. I have personal relationships with these people. Can you please answer this question If the EDL became as bad as Hamas (openly murderous statements and the like) would you mind if Vince Cable called them his friends? I would.
  22. Yeah. I am lucky enough to have a fairly wide circle of friends. What has this got to do with the topic at hand though?
  23. I haven't redefined anything bigotry /ˈbɪɡətri/ noun intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself. "the difficulties of combating prejudice and bigotry" That is the primary definition. So hating black people isn't bigoted, it is racist. Hating gays isn't bigoted, it is homophobic. Hating Muslims is bigoted. But tbh, the semantic argument is tiring and kinda irrelevant to the point.
  24. I don't think there is any context in which befriending group of people that plans to exterminate all Jews is acceptable. You obviously do. I don't think there is any context in which befriending group of people that plans to exterminate all blacks is acceptable. Do you?
  25. I am not sure the whole point of the left is to support Palestine. So you think that siding with Palestine justifies calling a group of people that want to murder all Jews (not even just all Israelies, but everyone who shares their religion) his friends? Interesting claim you make, but it is one that I take the opposite view of I am afraid.
