  1. Conservatives won. No one ever needs to follow their manifesto. However that is irrelevant. The vast majority f the public voted for a manifesto that included brexit.
  2. The issue with I have with the SS certainly wasn't the lack of search warrant requirement. You seem to have some odd priorities
  3. It was. The 2 parties that came first and second (and got like 80 percent of the vote), were running on a leave mandate. The people have spoken.
  4. Bigotry is the feeling of superiority to or intolerance of people holding different beliefs or opinions to yourself. There is no requirement for it to be heterogeneous group, though in practice it often is. I try my best not to be bigoted, but sometimes fail. The fact you specified that you have white fascists would possibly make you racist, it's like saying I hate black rapists, but I don't think you meant it in that way. On to Stephen Yaxley Lennon (very middle class name for a working class hero!), does he hate all Muslims? I have heard him say he hates islam, not Muslims.
  5. I would have thought that it would be the solicitors that should have found this rather than the surveyors. All the surveyors do is check for structural issues. Contact the solicitors you instructed to do the conveyancing.
  6. In my old workplace, where adherence to scehdule was important and breaks monitored, prayer breaks came out of the daily allocation. In my current workplace, where breaks are less strictly monitored, I could him for a 5 minute break whenever I want, so can Muslims. I think of a prayer break much like a fag break.
  7. Well you have used the right word, bigotry. Racism and bigotry are separate things. Most people are bigots. Hate fascists? Welcome to the bigot club. Despise white supremacists? Hello Mr. Bigot. If you think all bigotry is the same, I guess you think hating racists is the same as hating Muslims?
  8. I suppose the nature of the work is important in this discussion. Would the staff member be permitted to leave a project meeting to pray? Or would they be permitted to interrupt a conversation with a client to pray? I think the impact on Muslims praying on the NHS is negligible. I would hope that every Muslim member of staff would put the preservation of life before their need to pray. I imagine that any individual who left a patient in need to pray like be subject to legal proceedings if the patient was negatively impacted.
  9. I have seen no racism in this thread and the misuse of the word upsets me. Yes, it seemed like an attack on Muslim practices (not Muslims), which probably wasn't necessary in this conversation. However, it is disgusting behaviour to just accuse such people of racism. It removes the power of the accusation and makes the right against racism harder. Attacking Islam is no more racist than attacking facism or communism. Ideas are fair game to be attacked, regardless of the colour of skin of the majority of the adherents. I think apologies are owed
  10. If she had been warned before and decided to ignore the warning, she deserved the sack. Sad to hear because I would never want to see someone sacked.
  11. Corbyn is a criticised but never puts in place any solutions. You probably all have a Corbyn at work who just sits there and moans.
  12. Female only competitions are specifically designed to artificially constrain people based on an accident of birth.
  13. Is quality of top soil important? I will be turfing large area and need to lay top soil first. There is a huge difference in cost between certain options. Will I regret going cheap?
  14. Disproportionate criticism of the Israeli government is often (not always) motivated by anti-semitism. Israel are guilty of some appalling acts, but so are many countries. Singling out Israel for criticism is like singling out the Halal slaughter method as barbaric, but ignoring the long list of animal rights abuses we have in this country.
  15. If a serviceman commits a crime, he should be subject to the law like anyone else. I would take into consideration the situation at the time of the crime, understanding that the service person may have been under great stress and worried about their safety, If a soldier shoots an innocent civilian in a war zone, this is not as great a crime as if I were to walk onto the street and shoot the poster above me. This should be reflected in both the decision to prosecute and the sentencing if found guilty.
  16. lol sorry, obvious mistake there! It is in S2, just off Prince of Wales road. Near Manor/Fairlea
  17. Hi Everyone Thinking of purchasing a property on this development, due to the good quality housing. I wanted to know the opinions of other Sheffielders. I am keenly aware of the area surrounding it, but am hoping that the gentrification of the area will make it improve. Would you guys move here if you found a great property on it? Thanks
