  1. The way that Question Time completely altered its format, having the entire panel, including the host, spend 40 minutes focusing on one guest - Nick Griffin was an absolute disgrace. Whatever you think about Nick Griffin, the BBC clearly took the mick there They had to have him on because he was the leader of a party that had recently had some council and European electoral success, but it was an ambush of him.
  2. Do pro choice people think women should be allowed to have their baby terminated immediately after birth?
  3. Its fashionable right now to talk about giving mental health the same importance and resource as physical health, but lets face it, you can't. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that mental health isn't important but as far as resources are concerned, treating mental health will be an endless money pit with unclear/debatable success/results In the treatment of mental health, what does success look like?? when you have a broken leg, its clear what's wrong with you...you have a broken leg, and successful treatment is of course having a healed broken leg, but with mental health, what is "wrong" with you in the first place, the degree to which you're "ill" is open to interpretation, and as I say, what does success look like? its all too subjective.
  4. Parkinson was a great interviewer, one of the best, he let his guest do most of the talking, which is what an interviewer should do.
  5. Few people that would call themselves right wing would agree with that. The mainstream media, particularly the BBC , in an often quite subtle way, puts across a soft left viewpoint time and time again.
  6. You were trying to be a smart arse and you know you were so knock it off.
  7. Its not the first time the BBC has done this with Jeremy Hunt. Its clearly an in-joke at the beeb.
  8. Terminating the potentially disabled. That's a whole different can of worms right there.
  9. It brings things into sharp focus, blows away the "its just a fetus" line. Baby's have been terminated at a stage where they can be born and live.
  10. There are people alive today that were born prematurely, before the point at which it is legally permissible to terminate.
  11. The London mayor IS a "stone cold loser" A quiet majority welcome the President to the UK.
  12. Perhaps if the graphic reality of abortions was shown, a bit like the graphic reality of smoking is shown to deter smoking, then perhaps more people would be more careful with their birth control, instead of disgracefully using abortions as some sort of last resort birth control.
  13. I think you know that the thread is about abortion, as in, killing, for want of a better word, an unborn baby. Your pedantry with this is actually quite distasteful.
  14. Well that was a failed attempt at trying to be funny and clever.
  15. We know what the official line is from the top, but in practice on the ground, it is relatively rare for LGBT people to receive hassle from Catholics/Christians. There is a guy that dresses as a woman who picks his kids up from my school, which is a Catholic school. Contrast this with other religions. You're aiming your rancour in the wrong place.
  16. This comment reeks of snobbery and elitism, as if only the elite in the great institutions are the ones that progress human learning, only their theories are valid, only their analysis counts. Throughout history it has often been the outsiders, the mavericks that have moved human understanding forward.
  17. If its not 350 million then how much is it? has this court given a figure?
  18. One good thing in my view that this referendum has done, is that it has made some people that liked to pretend they were progressive and morally superior, drop that facade and reveal their true colours.
  19. Why not? in between every time they're caught they will have done numerous other offences that go uncaught. And its not just stealing of course... Steeling a car/burglary - 5 points Serious financial fraud (figures involved to be determined) - 2 points Serious assaults - 5 points Armed robbery - 50 points. And so on... You would need to amass 100 points or more within a 5 year period; every 5 years it would be wiped clean.
  20. I doubt they used Ancestry UK to find this out though; proper genealogists will have done it.
  21. 100% not alien craft from out of space. It is top secret NATO craft that for obvious reasons they want to keep quiet. A lot of this technology was developed with the help of surrendered Nazis after WW2 which makes it all a bit taboo as well. The military regard the "Aliens" obsession as both comical and useful.
  22. I'm aware of the place on Petre street that does bespoke urns, but Is there anywhere that you can buy a reasonably priced urn off the shelf in Sheffield? Thanks in advance.
  23. Sam fox is a lesbian. I'll just leave that there.
  24. What's the point of having children if all you're going to do is bung them away in after school clubs etc for at least 5 days a week?
