  1. Good luck to Danny Wilson in his new job, did a good job at the Lane and as it turned out was unlucky with strikers. Would defo have taken us up if Ched wouldn't have gone down and with the midfield we had would probably have taken us up the season after as well. Then Ched's replacement, Hoskins, turned out to be a crock when we needed him to step up to the mark. The season after they sold Blackman above Wilson's head then wouldn't allow him to get in proper replacements, lost Miller and Diego to injury, and didn't get Kitson to tow the line in the second half of last season. Decent bloke, decent manager.
  2. All the best with your recovery, the win today should help
  3. My team for tomorrow (assuming all fit and not suspended eg McMahon) Long McMahon-Maguire-Collins-Hill Brandy-Doyle-McG-Murphy Porter-Taylor I just hope Clough signs a decent midfield player in January to replace Doyle.
  4. Don't think King going would be a great loss, was expecting so much more from a striker who has done well throughout his career in the division above. Heard a whisper not to expect too much in the JTW, it'll be next summer when things will start moving for United in the transfer market.
  5. If it's owt like last season's game it'll be 3 points in the bag! Morgan's finest hour as a boss thus far.
  6. Ditto on the Balfour Carpets shout. Good prices, good service.
  7. Well done to the lad. Sheffield seems to be producing a few decent sportsmen and women at the minute and aint he a Blade as well!
  8. Good win at Cambridge although we were a bit lucky with some of those handball calls, last one was a defo for me. Looks like were slowly starting to turn it round - W5 D3 L2 in last 10 - without being spectacular.
  9. Villa away should be a good day out. We seem to draw this lot in the cup on a quite regular basis.
  10. I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea when he was at the Lane but was always an honest lad who gave 100%. Chipped in with a few goals and never hid. Good luck to Cressy in what ever he does in the future.
  11. "Revolution-Castle Market Gallery" Did that later turn to Spin City records, remember buying some decent rare and bootleg stuff from there in the mid/late 80s.
  12. Used to be a regular at Don Valley but on occasions have tried Ponds Forge and Concorde. Generally busy after work but nowhere near as busy later. My advice would be light tea and go to gym at 8 for a free run on machines and weights.
  13. Probably no use to you ell-tee but always thought it was a decent set up at Eckington snooker club.
  14. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't have a few quid on the Aussies at the start of the series at 13/8. Tough task winning 2 series' on the spin in Oz. England went there in 58/59 expecting to win 4 on the trot with a much vaunted attack - Trueman, Statham, Tyson - and got stuffed. For what it's worth my team would be Root to 3, Ballance at 6, Bresnan back as first change bowler and drop Prior (he's been rubbish) for Bairstow behind the stumps. What's the saying 'a strong Yorkshire...'
  15. It's the Christmas Market at Handsworth Church next Sunday, only guessing but it might be then???
