  1. Thanks to you both for info and the photos, these are at the bottom, looking for shops at top end near mountview methodists. Thanks again.
  2. Hi, My great grandparents, Samuel and Abigail Brady ran the greengrocers shop and coal merchant at 233 Derbyshire Lane about 1919. My Great Aunt, their daughter, Annie Worral ran the Drapers shop next door. Sorry no photos, I would like to see some too. Hope this helps.
  3. Hi, my grandmother taught at the school during the 60s and 70s. Her name was mrs Tuke, does anyone have a memory of her?
  4. Does anyone have a photo of the timekeepers house at Sanderson and Newbould? Just wondered if the mural has been completed and where could I see it?
  5. My great grandfather William Taylor lived at the gatehouse and was the timekeeper from about 1891 , I have a very faded photo of him .
  6. My great grandfather, Alfred Rowlinson worked as a Government Sword Viewer at Sanderson Brothers and Newbould, Attercliffe. He inspected swords and bayonets to ensure they were to the highest quality needed for military and Royal family ceremonial occassions. He was later presented with a medal from the royal family for his service.
  7. My grandfather, William Rowlinson worked as a miller in the engineering works about 1930/40s . I have a photo of him at work in an old sanderson brothers work magazine.
