  1. Staggering comment...how does me pointing out a fact in discussion with someone else demean me?...you mean because what i say doesn't wholly meet with what you consider the "correct" thing to say, on a public forum, then that is demeaning?...grow up.
  2. I wasn't commenting on what people or society at large would consider, merely that in England, at age 10, one is considered suffieciently mature to know the difference between right and wrong, the consequences of the decision you make and the societal expectations with respect to behaviour...even if one is still a child, and hence the law holds that person responsible for his/her actions.
  3. Actually the law in England holds him criminally responsible at age 10.
  4. Hi, some of these teachers names bring back some memories!!..i was there from 72-79, ended the 5th year in 77 and stayed on...have seen the pics of the reunion at Burgoyne road and certainly recognise a lot of them.....but they wouldbe the year above me generally.
  5. I meant loyal as in i still consider it to be my home city, even though I have lived away from it longer than i lived there....and if people ask, thats where i say i am from.
  6. Left in 1983 for Swindon due to work....stayed there for three years and moved to Lancashire...moved to Austria in 1996 and came back to lancashire a couple of years ago...still visit sheffield often to meet up with old school pals for a night out every now and then and to see family...certainly seen the deterioration in the city...but am still loyal!
  7. I had a look at the 3sat websiter and it doesn't give any information about repeats, this only talks about th film maker and the background to the film, and what he was trying to capture. Interesting though, if you do manage to get a copy I'd love to see it:)
  8. The LRDG were really the forerunners of the present SAS, and infact many members of David Stirlings "originals" were drawn from the LRDG...they roamed in small mobile groups behind enemy lines carrying out reconnaisence, harrassing attacks and also escorting larger groups across the dessert...so maybe they did act with the Rats on occasions, but were not known for that.
  9. no, but i used to live in Stannington when I was in Sheffield, so i figured she would go to Myers, just checked the site...sad bugger aren't i!!!..she s a few years younger than me, but i think i remember her brother
