  1. Hi all, I hope no one minds me posting this here, I feel its important to let people know. Oh I love shops that have good customer care (or rather hate those that don't) I have a model rc helicopter purchased from Nitro Flight models in Rotherham I reported it as problomatic and dangerous when I first had problems they convinced me it was my fault, the battery in the model is only held in by a small peice of valcrow in my perticular model the valcrow doesn't work which means the model is unflyable because the weight balance is off badly, I have asked for my money back which they have refused, because its been crashed, the only reason its been crashed is because of the battery which I reported as soon as it happened, I'm just warning everyone about this before they use this company.
  2. Hi all I have brough a new streo for my hyundai matrix, I can't get the cage (cradel whatever u call it) to fit into the dash. The origonal streo has a spung loaded system, where to remove it u have to push a U shaped tool into either side of it, the streo's are physically the same size but I can't get the cradel to fit and hold the new streo in its annoying because I don't think it would make any difference if I'd spent more on a streo because all the one with a square cage are the same size and so is the cage, I checked this by looking in Halfords and seeing that there was only 1 size available. I'm greatful of anyhelp that people can give me, as the streo only cost £35 it was worth the gamble it has USB, SD Card slot, and AUX connector, and as it would cost about £90 for anyother one with all 3 I thought it was worth a try. I was doing some browsing and saw that in some cars u can connect an Ipod or other MP3 player via the cd changer socket, my origonal car streo can have a cd changer added, I presumes this means that some where there must be a socket for it to attach to and could I fit a device that will allow u to connect an Ipod, if this is posible is therea type of this device which has a changable usb lead as I'm thinking of changing from an Ipod to another make of MP3 player as Ipods are so expensive for expample for the price of a 4gig Ipod u can get a 20gig Archos player in Comet. Thanks for any advice given Chris
  3. I've finally got fed up with bulldog, but for speed issues I need an ISP that uses LLU like Bulldog, does anyone use Orange or Sky from the the Broomhill exchange? Chris
  4. Cos I'm writing to everyone I can I've to MP in charge of the crossparty internet group I'm writing a letter to local MP and virgin too cos I wanna get onto cable as soon as I can, can anyone tell I think that ADSL will never work well enough?
  5. it depends on the router mine is 30 meters garenteed, but there are rangemax router which can get 100 meters, but there is a cheap way of getting more coverage find the metal connecter at the base of your router arial and tie a very long very thin uninsulated wire to it and to the outside of your house and u will get lots of coverage, so if u life about 1/2 a mile from work and want to use your net connection there that might be worth while one thing I will always is secure any wireless network its not hard, but I can't get anything other WEP working with windows and centrino, I'd like to use something more secure.
  6. ok this is werid now. I come on and start using my pc this after noon and for about 12 an hour its still dropping the line all the time now its fine, what is going on with my damm line its stupid.
  7. What is really annoying is that I have no choice I can't get on to virgin cos the council won't let them come down my road.
  8. The only thing to find out is what speed u will get through your BT line, because sky don't use a local loop, I use an isp with one and when its working I get 6-8meg without a local I would 512kbps, so its worth finding out. other wise its a good package, but if u can get vigin get phone and bb from and tv from sky it might cost a little but will be alot less hastle for bb. Chris
  9. Thanks mate that will be great, I have a headse, or I have very expensive mic used for recording lectures when I was a uni. Do u want to swap e-mail addies so we can arange how I can get it from u? Chris
  10. bt use very old coper phone lines that where meant to carry high speed internet, because of this adsl will never be as good as it should be hense all the companies the provide it have to put "up to 8meg" on there advert cos they can't ganrentee any speed over 512kbps. Why arn't BT being force by the goverment to change to fybre lines? or allowing another company to lay fybre line which adsl providers can use, virgin use fybre but they are restricted by councils to where they can lay lines and by the government to only allowing there own service on thouse lines.
  11. as a test of the router connect wire a cable and see how stable it is, if is as bad send it back to sky cos its ****ed!
  12. Dose anyone else hate that BT can get away with using really old line that where never designed to take Broadband just cos all the companies that provide adsl put "up to 8meg" which means as long as u get 512kbps u can't complain, its bull**** they should be force to change to fybre or at least allow another company to put fybre lines in that can be used by adsl providers. Chris
  13. its easy, wired means u connect your computer to the device that connects to your phone line for internet acess via a wire, wireless mean u have a card or other type of device in your pc that mean u don't have wire between your pc and the device that connects u to the internet, wireless is less secure than wired. Chris
