  2. The post office at Heeley Green do passport photos.
  3. Yes I’ve read loads of stuff about the family!
  4. There’s no emotional blackmail involved I’m just stating that whilst that family is being called scum, there’s little kids in that family that are not scum. It doesn’t matter if it’s a traveller family or any other family the same applies. Yes he did wrong and yes those people he did wrong to had families who I do feel for but why call all his family scum when they’re not. I’m not defending him but there’s not only him that’s robbed the elderly etc.
  5. We’re all entitled to our own opinion. And how would a baby know to disown him? I was just saying them little kids don’t know anything and they’re certainly not scum. He might have been a criminal and conman but he loved and lived for his family and there’s a lot of people out there that do naff all for their kids.
  6. I agree they do but there are some very innocent grandchildren in that family and I personally think it’s unfair to slate their grandad.
  7. Why do people twist things? If planning rues have been broken let the council deal with it as I am sure they will. If the family are threatening violence let the police deal with that. If Mr Collins committed crimes he may well have been punished for those crimes. As for those crimes being recent, he passed away two years ago! Let’s remember who it is that did wrong and not punish others for it!
  8. We all have our own opinions, I personally wouldn’t slate the family as their business is nothing to do with me. I stand by what I said in previous posts that Mr Collins was a husband, dad and grandad and yes he may have done wrong but his family loved him very much.
  9. I don’t think it’s racist but people on here are being disrespectful. Bet they wouldn’t say these things to their faces but expect everyone else to challenge the family of Mr Collins. If the Council want to speak to them about the memorial and HMRC about where they get their money from then let them do that but don’t disrespect this man and his family on here. I used to visit one of the council traveller sites we have in Sheffield to care for an elderly man and that family were so grateful and respectful to me. My motto - treat people as you wish them to treat you!
  10. Yes I agree that they should have kept to the regulations set by SCC but as they didn’t that’s for SCC to take up with them.
  11. I wasn’t saying we should celebrate criminals or even that he was a nice bloke, I don’t personally know the family. I was just saying at the end of the day he was someone’s husband, dad and grandad and they have done things the way they want. If I could have afforded something grand like that for my dad I sure would have and he wasn’t a perfect man either but he was my dad and I loved him very much.
  12. Thanks Padders, I stand by what I wrote. It is amazing and like I said he was obviously much loved by his family. He may have done some wrong during his life but that doesn’t mean he’s not entitled to have a lovely grave. I also thought it would stand out above everything else but it doesn’t as it’s way down at the bottom.
  13. You’re all going to grief me for saying this but I went to have a look at the grave at the weekend as I’d read about it in The Star. For those that are saying its a ‘monstrosity’ I disagree. It’s actually amazing and looks beautiful, go and have a look. Only time will tell what the council do about it not complying with their rules about height etc. As for the remarks about Mr Collins robbing the elderly etc, for me that is a separate matter. Any family is entitled to bury their loved ones regardless of any crimes they have committed. Mr Collins was a much loved husband, dad and grandad and for me that’s what counts with regard to his grave. It’s really sad that other people are asked to remove things from graves and the council should be ashamed, what does a teddy bear hurt on a child’s grave. The council need to change their policy on things like that. I do have concerns about people visiting graves close by to this one. The family need to respect people visiting their loved ones graves and turn off the music etc when needed. As I said by reading all of the above comments a lot of you will totally disagree with me but we’re all entitled to our own opinions.
  14. My son is an electrical apprentice with Clarkson Evans but they’re not based in Sheffield they’re in Nottingham so he has to travel, luckily he has a car. Also he travels around to different sites, They take on quite a few apprentices as far as I know but the travelling would probably be an issue for your son. Really hope he manages to find something as it will be a great career for him. My son struggled to find someone to take him on and for a long time gave up trying but finally he got sorted. Tell him not to give up as if he is determined he will get there.
  15. Hi you can from K & S and Whittingtons. I’ve done it myself and I’m not a business.
  16. I went to see Ruth a couple of nights ago, she was really good. I know not everyone believes in this but each to our own. Lovely lady who blew me away with what she told me.
  17. I used to love going to St Anthony’s Jumble, I always got loads of bargains. Does anyone know if these will start up again?
  18. Blast from the past - Grenville Squires! He was a patient of ours when I worked at the doctors surgery in Park Hill. He was a lovely man and had a lovely family.
  19. Very old post I know but I was looking up the murder by Trevor Eades and came across this. I worked for a doctors surgery and Trevor was a regular patient up to me leaving about 9 years ago. He lived in the Park Hill area in supported housing after he had served his time. Trevor has now passed away. Strangely I had a soft spot for him when he came to the surgery and he was always pleasant.
  20. Meadowhall is not for me, I only go if I really need to which might be twice a year. I much prefer going into town, I just feel cooped up in MHall. I like to be out in the fresh air so town suits me fine. I regularly visit Chesterfield town centre as well which is lovely.
  21. I totally agree, theres lots of people that have medical conditions and put off going to places where there are no toilets. The original poster mentions 'dirty and 'filthy' people - I am not dirty or filthy but have a medical condition!
  22. I have a bladder and bowel condition which generally means when I have to go i have to go! However i also like walks in the countryside and on numerous occasions have had to pee somewhere, it's either that or pee myself. On the other hand I've never had to poo anywhere and I hope I never do. It's very difficult when you need the loo and you're in the middle of nowhere but the decent thing would be to pick up your mess.
